Papagayo Golden Palms Beachfront Hotel

Breakfast was tasty - Costa Rican style with lots of fruit! The pool was so relaxing. And the grounds were beautiful!

Hotel clean and very friendly staff. We eat at the restaurant and food was very good, unfortunately the day after breakfast was not good at all.

We loved the well-tended tropical gardens, which helped attract wonderful birds and butterflies. The property had preserved huge old trees with respect, also a wonderful path for the glorious howler monkeys! The beach and pool were in front, and the view from the restaurant. I had a first class facial by a talented masseuse, swiftly arranged by gracious reception personnel. The food was good, and breakfasts exceptional for the usual included ones. Rooms were lovely, spotless, with good mattresses. Lots of places to be outdoors. Low-key, not glitzy nor pretentious. They have their priorities right.

The long beach is used by local families having great fun, but there is some litter which we wish had not been possibly endangering wildlife.

The view is beautiful and the grounds were lovely. It seems they are understaffed and the staff they do have in the kitchen were not trained yet. The pool and beach were exceptional and one could hear howler monkeys at 6 am and watch green parrots fly from tree to tree. The surrounding environment is serene and verdant, full of biodiversity. If they could train the staff and waiters in the restaurant, it would be wonderful.

Breakfast was ok. There is certainly room for improvement.

The menu was not to our liking. Dinner options missed the mark. Flavors were not as appealing.

Nice location and well groomed property with lush green vegetation.
