Sojourn at DuPont Place

Perfect location across from the hotel my conference was at. Much quieter than a hotel! Comfortable, attractive room, and a comfortable little garden outside seating area. It was so nice having a little kitchen area, too. They provided free grubHub delivery, which was also really nice. The Dupont area this was in is very historic and pretty, nice to just walk around, and it felt quite safe.

I was a little confused about the checkin, when I received a request to provide online photo of me and my ID. I hadn't realized there was no staff present (which was fine, I was just confused). I haven't yet received a detailed receipt (which I need to get reimbursed for my trip). They've said they'll send one, but it's not immediate, it's only been a couple days, but most other places have sent one immediately upon check out.

Loved the hulu and netflix access, and having a breakfast table. Wifi worked well. location was great for my purposes, about a 15 minute walk from Dupont Circle.

The bathroom has no bathtub, just a shower. I also expected more kitchen capability (there's a microwave and mini-fridge), but didn't need it. coffee maker is by request.

I loved the setup of the apartment. Getting into the building and the suite I stayed in was easy.

Upstairs was a little toasty if the AC wasn’t on. Also the shower was a bit small.

This property is not a hotel, so there is no front desk or concierge. This is fine, but it means the instructions have to be crystal clear and they were not. On the right side of my door, two short flights of stairs up (not fun with luggage) was a key lock box with numbers 1-9 that you punch in to open the box and get a key. I had a four-digit code. I must have put it in 10 times with no luck. So I texted the company. On the door itself, by the handle (with a key lock above it) was a little solid black glass panel. It looked like something you'd tap a hotel key card against. Turns out, you need to tap the front of that screen with your hand and then a screen of numbers appears. That's where you put in the code. But not just the code, the code plus you have to hit a green check mark in the corner. NONE of this is explained in the entry instructions. The room itself is serviceable, nothing to write home about and certainly not for $350+ per night. I tried the TV. Again, confusion with two remotes! A roku and a regular. Roku didn't work at all. Got the regular one to work, but first night only. Second night, no tv because it says there's no internet in the room. There was NO internet information in the room either. I had to text the company AGAIN but it was late and no response. I got the info the next day, when I had already checked out. Where is the internet info in the company's materials?? I didn't see it, and it's a unique password of course. I would not stay here again; way overpriced for what you get.

Setup of bedroom not very convenient. One of us was facing the wall and it was claustrophobic

Location is great and the place was very clean

A lot of street noise which is to be expected with the location but something to be aware of. Bed and the additional sofa bed were very firm which is not ideal for a longer stay if you are used to a softer or medium firmness
