Interesting old hotel in a sweet little colonial town

NO BREAKFAST as stated on their own website as well as on booking.com. Hot & cold water plumbed backwards. No place to plug in coffee maker.

The place was quiet and very clean

No one at check in . No one told me restaurant and bar would be completely closed entire weekend . And don't even provide bar soap in the room ! Very noisey as well . Quite shocked

Historical property and nicely remodeled

Breakfast was not provided despite their advertising it as being included. There is a nice breakfast place five buildings away. They seemed to know that their ads were wrong but they didn’t seem to know how to remedy the misinformation.

It's in an old building that was converted to an inn in the 1800's. The rooms and bathrooms have all been updated.

There isn't an elevator

We paid the rooms with breakfast included but there was no breakfast in the hotel. The staff did not care about that!

Very nice historic hotel! We were visiting a relative who lives in Mercersburg so we were happy that the James Buchanan Hotel was in town.

The Main Street in Hagerstown is a little noisy, but we had a room towards the back of the hotel which really helped.
