Upon arrival, the gentleman in charge of the adjacent pub greeted us and showed us to the room. Finding everything in order we retired to the bar with an extremely friendly and warm reception from the locals...(and Alex the dog). Fantastic evening by the real log fire pre Hogmanay.

Didn't meet owner but according to locals we dodged a bullet as he's extremely cantankerous. Booking.com and information in room state payment upon arrival, I had the cash but landlord had taken full payment from card the previous day causing me to need to put cash back into my bank.

Handy fridge in room. Comfortable bed.

Breakfast was disappointing. Bathroom a little tired.

Very, very friendly. Host was really good, couldn't do enough for us. Perfect location for Stonehaven fireball parade. Room clean and tidy.

Wee bit tired. Milk in fridge out of date. My bedside table lamp didn't work.

The food was excellent home made and drinks good the chicken pie was to die for

The hot water for the bath was not hot enough

Small room but comfortable
