Hotel Tortuguero Beachfront

The location was nice. The staff was helpful.

It was difficult to find the hotel. We arrived with the boat and there could have been someone fron the staff meeting us there. We had to ask several people before finding it. A sign at the main road would help. The garden was full of fallen palm trees, and it was not so well kept. It felt that the hotel was a bit abandoned. It was just a few guests and the hotel is big. Maybe just low season for that place. But it felt a bit desolated. You are not allowed to swim in the sea!

Staff were great and so was the breakfast.

Tour guide "linked" to the hotel, meeting you off the boat and coming with you to the hotel so they can wait while you check in and then sell tours. Some people just want to get to their hotel and decide at a later date what to do.

The room was very spartan and basic. The breakfast lacked any imagination. Lots of power issues. Very muddy

Loved this hotel! Felt luxurious and comfortable. The staff were friendly, the location was right in town and also right on the beach. The breakfast was delicious and had lots of options.
