Few things in the room , lighting behind bed , cracked mirror , dated decor , could do with an update , no prices displayed , no menu , music to loud for us from the bar , considering quiet location .

The friendly & helpful staff, peace and quiet and the exceptional high quality of the environmentai tours by boat.

There wasn’t anything which struck us as negative at the property

Rooms were spacious and clean, with comfortable linens and ample lighting. We had a safe in the room for storing valuables while we were away. The restaurant was comfortable, and the food was excellent--fresh and very tasty! Much of the produce and fish/meat was grown or raised on the property. The property/garden was very nice with loads of biodiversity, including many fruit trees, flowering plants and trees, and consequently many birds and butterflies. The property is right on the lagoon, so we were able to meet our private guide just a few paces away from the room. The owners are fluent in multiple languages, which made it very easy for us to have a wonderful morning guided tour of Cano Negro, and we saw a lot of wildlife including many birds, iguanas, plumed basilisk lizards, monkeys, a sloth and caimans. Beautiful sunsets too!

Paths were somewhat slick and hot water in shower not super hot. Cash only business. The road to get there is pretty difficult. Give yourself an additional hour or two above the expected arrival time if you are driving.

The host are extremely welcoming, the rooms very cute and clean, and we loved both the night tour and the boat trip in the reserve. Food is also superb. No notes :)

The location is fantastic and the grounds and open air restaurant is lovely. They are very accommodating for river tours. Fresh food and juice is great.

The prices are high in the restaurant and we did not know since prices are not listed. If you are a budget traveler, you will need to ask what the prices are before you order. Shower water did not get hot.

Loved it , beautiful gardens, lovely restaurant, super boat trips, fantastic staff, great swimming pool, fantastic monkeys. Food really lovely they even made me a rice pudding which was yummy yummy.

Loved our stay here, the off point in the whole area is the mozzies , worth visiting the area but remember to take DEET with you.

Comfortable, clean room. The staff were friendly and efficient. The birdwatching area is good. Andréa does an excellent boat trip. So good that I did it twice.

Nothing to dislike

After the bouncy ride to get to Cano Negro, Hotel De Campo is a relaxing sanctuary. Andrea was a fabulous host and organized the best bird watching guide, Alonso, that we had in Costa Rica. The evening meal (and breakfast) were also outstanding.. Definitely, would stay here again if we are in the area.

Everything was great - especially the spider monkeys devouring the mangos in the garden!
