When I went for a walk at the back I had a cow chase me which was frightening. I had to climb a fence into the sheep enclosure to escape.

Had a fantastic time here! Might have been the best hotel experience I've had in Mexico, with a great restaurant and very friendly staff. Had a minor incident while I was there and the staff was VERY responsive and apologetic in a manner that I really appreciate. The hotel is just a couple minute drive from El Rosario. The hotel staff was very accommodating in helping us book a taxi there and back. Would definitely stay there again.

Took a city taxi from Zitácuaro after arriving on a bus from CDMX. The taxi driver was confused over where the hotel was located and almost refused to take us. (it was almost an hour drive away) Highly recommend contacting the hotel directly and setting up transportation through them. They set it up for the ride back and it was great.

Great rural location close to the sanctuary . 5 minutes by car . Great happy staff . Good 3 course meal at night so no need to leave

Wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff. Huge room. Property was lovely for kids to explore and to walk around.

The fireplace in the room was a really nice amenity but either the chimney wasn't clean or the wood wet because our room filled with smoke when it was lit by the staff. That was the only unpleasant issue during our stay.

Breakfast and dinner were solid, the grounds were very pretty, it was nice and quite with roosters crowing. There is beautiful outdoor seating for breakfast and dinner.

The nights were cold, and you can pay extra for wood to put in the fire. I guess I expected the wood to be included. We rang the bell to get in, and no one came, we continued to ring, I whistled, and honked the horn, and then finally found the ph number to call them, and then they opened the gate. Just make sure you have their WhatsApp number so you can message them.

Absolutely beautiful place and a nice cozy restaurant

Pack your woolies if you are going to stay at this hotel. You are up in the mountains with no heat in your room except a small log burning horno. I didnt use my shower stall. It was awful. Wish I had taken a picture. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. Five stars for the staff. The hotel and the grounds around it are beautiful. I didnt have a meal at the hotel but the food smelled delicious.

The room was cold. The shower stall was not clean. I didn't use it.

Best location for visiting the butterfly sanctuary by far. Property had far more to offer than just a place to sleep.

The staff was so helpful, kind, and friendly. The food was so good, and they brought dinner to our room because we arrived just after the resaurant closed.

Our room was heated by a fireplace. We had to buy the wood, and a staff member came and lit the fire for us. Shortly after, our room filled with smoke so we were unable to keep the fire going and we got cold. The bed was very hard and there were cobwebs in the room and bathroom.

An old Building with a lot of wood, very clean and good located. To the Biósfera of Mariposa Monarca is only 10 minutes drive by car.
