The Rake Tapas Accommodation

The staff were excellent! The owner, the chef and the bar staff all looked after us and went above and beyond with their customer service.

Breakfast and evening meals we had were excellent.

Loved the location. Staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was great Bed was comfortable , bedding and room were clean .

Room smelt strongly of damp. Black damp on walls In bathroom and rafters look damp too . smell was apparent as soon as we went in. Access was to the back of the property and not well maintained. Lots of steps, loose paving. Cobwebs in corners of the room. Weeds over the roof and in gutters maybe cause of damp problem .

The rooms are amazing, beds are so comfy didn’t want to get out of it! And the rooms are nice size.

Considering this was the smallest accommodation of our trip, it was pleasantly surprising. The tapas food was excellent as we're the staff, who were all considerate and happy to chat. The breakfast, both the full English and vegetarian options were really nice.

The accommodation was a little out of the way. The climb to the room could be challenging for some.

Quite a nice room and nice location.

Probably the worst mattress I’ve ever slept on in paid for accommodation. Just applying a little pressure with a hand bottomed it out. Way too slack didn’t sleep v well woke up aching. Partner who is a stomach sleeper said she’d have slept on the floor if there had been 2 duvets. No excuse at £140 for a night. Other minor gripes being a loose toilet seat and a lot of water ending up on the floor when getting a shower. Shame really as otherwise a nice room.
