Kleines Hotel mit viel Privatsphäre. Aussergewöhnlich war der Bird Walk mit dem Naturalist, ein absoluter Profi in seinem Gebiet und sehr freundlich.

We took the bushlark villa, which was sensational. It is beautifully appointed, with a four poster bed, quality furniture and detail, and wonderful staff who are so attentive, helpful, and just lovely. Nothing was too much trouble and the attention to detail was on point. The villa was clean and secure, the safe was a large one for our big laptops and all our stuff, and the mini bar had wine and beer. The chef was excellent and all the team couldn’t help enough. We only booked 2 days in advance, and arranged our tour of Yala separately through GetYourGuide (we went zone 5 as it was 30 minutes away) but they do it too. We saw elephants, one leopard, monkeys, loads of birds and found the afternoon 4 hour tour plenty, without spending all day in the park - but beware you might miss the leopard depending on circumstance. They warn you that you might not see wildlife - but we saw elephants, birds and deers the moment we arrived. The boat ride and bird tour on site were brilliant and a must do. The guy who did my bird tour was so knowledgeable, he also took me through plants and loads of wildlife facts and loads of other facts about Sri Lanka - he was excellent - it’s 6:30am though - but well worth it!! We did 2 nights, which we thought was enough, other people were there longer and were loving it.

Nothing. It’s a great place

This is an amazing lodge with so much wild life in the area. It’s definitely a glamping experience. The staff were lovely. We stayed in the honeymoon suite which we would highly recommend. Watching all the birds from the pool was so peaceful. The naturalist Tushan was an exceptional guide for both our bird watching tour and safari. Yala National park was unfortunately closed due to flooding when we were there but he took us to Bundala National park instead and made sure we still saw lots of wildlife!

Our only issue with the property is that there’s an airport nearby and it was quite noisy with planes when trying to sleep at night. However they provided ear plugs and I would still highly recommend staying here.

Séjour décevant par rapport au prix L’endroit a du charme mais notre expérience n’a pas été à la hauteur du tarif demandé. • Rapport qualité/prix : beaucoup trop élevé pour les prestations. • Installations : piscine et tentes (très proches les unes des autres) ne sont pas au niveau attendu. Le petit-déjeuner, identique à ce que nous avons eu dans des hôtels cinq fois moins chers, est particulièrement décevant. Par chance, nous étions les seuls clients, sinon l’intimité serait limitée. • Restaurant : en travaux, sans avertissement préalable. • Environnement : en cette saison, le niveau d’eau est bas, donc très peu d’oiseaux et un paysage bien différent des photos. On entend aussi la musique du Hilton voisin, ce qui rompt le calme. • Massage : un court massage des pieds de 10 minutes sur un simple transat en bois, donc peu confortable. Points positifs Le personnel fait de son mieux avec les moyens disponibles, et la sortie avec le guide pour observer les oiseaux reste intéressante. Conclusion Le site a du potentiel mais le prix pratiqué ne reflète absolument pas l’expérience proposée. Mieux vaut être informé de ces détails avant de réserver.

La struttura è meravigliosa e completamente immersa nella natura. Abbiamo apprezzato i sistemi di isolamento dagli insetti come zanzariere e teli doppi. Al nostro arrivo è stato offerto un massaggio breve di benvenuto, il migliore provato dal nostro gruppo (6 persone) in 12 giorni di soggiorno in Sri Lanka. Il terapista che ce l’ha fatto è stato eccezionale. Lo Staff è disponibile, gentile ed efficiente. Pre-cena è stato organizzato un falò che si è rivelato essere un momento magico. Cena ottima. La mattina seguente partivamo alle 04:00 per il Safari e ci è stata preparata una colazione da asporto. Pulizia ottima rispetto agli standard del luogo. Lo consiglieremo assolutamente.

Very clean , comfortable and friendly staff

The lodge is very nice, in a nice location by water. Staff were the best. Piyumi is the kindest person to welcome you when you arrive and very professional. Rajitha is also an amazing therapist that took care of my back pain. Everyone on the lodge was very nice. And it was great to do the Udawalawe safari with Chaminda. I only stayed one full day at Flameback and was tired to do both safaris so skipped the Yala safari. The tents were very charming and clean and it is great to fall asleep and wake up with the sounds of nature and lake reflections.

The spa's location on a tree house wasn't functional, by the water could be more silent and relaxing as I only heard the music of the next hotel and not the birds... Didn't t feel the need to have the huge floating table either as it doesn't t seem organic ( is it a plastic buoy?) like the rest of the place and affects the view of the lake and its surroundings...
