Staying here was absolutely wonderful and a unique experience. Maheshwar Singh and his wife were excellent hosts with a wealth of local historical knowledge and an enthusiasm for sharing it. Great food. Walking along the ramparts to our rooms was amazing. The hosts were also very helpful in arranging sightseeing in the region. Highly recommended.

"Excellent stay. We really enjoyed it!! Hosts are very nice and welcoming!!"

9.0

The host Maheshwar Singh ji and his wife are fantastic hosts. They are very welcoming. Food was very delecious and stay was unique as we were staying in a palace which was built around 300 years ago. It was unique experience. Also as my Mom have knee problem so to them they gave the first floor so that it would be comfortable for them. Dinner and Breakfast was delecious and in Dinner we had some local dishes which we have never had earlier. I would highly recommend this unique experience.

"Memorable stay in hotoric and highly atmospheric castle"

10.0

This is an extraordinary piece to stay. It is historic, full of character and highly atmospheric. it is not an ordinary hotel but a family seat. The heritage suite enables you to live moments as if in the past. It is unique and unforgettable. There are no mod-cons but that is just as it should be. Staff are welcoming, kind and helpful. if you require clinical cleanliness and modern facilities then this place is probably not for you. if you want to pass through a portal to a different era then you may just have one of your most memorable stays ever.

Nothing significant

There is no word describing how far staying at Narayan Niwas Castle brings you. A part of History, a part of magical, a part of architecture. Could keep going long. The owners are a couple full of passion and time to share. The best souvenir ever! I have lucky enough to stay in iconic hotels around the world, I stayed in Palace but nothing to compare with the experience of sharing a part of the daily life of the 8th generation owner a 300 years old castle. Nothing moved, do not expect five stars service cause you will discover the soul you never could imagine to meet. Make sure you get the guided tour of the village by Radish! Be ready for a bit of challenge to reach the place if you decide to join it with a motorbike!!

"A wonderful experience staying in a piece of Rajasthan history"

9.0

If you are looking for somewhere quiet and relatively unique, this is the place for you. I went in low season and was the only guest in the fort! That was really special. As I was led to my room, through the fort's thick ramparts, I didn't know what to expect. I needn't have worried...my room was very spacious and well furnished. The owner, 8th generation, and his team were very friendly. I gladly recommend staying here and I am sure I will again.

I can't say I disliked anything. However, you need to be reasonably fit as the fort has many stairs to navigate.

What an absolutely magical place! If you are exploring the Sekhawati region and you have your own vehicle just stay here! Its in the part of the fort that belongs to Thakur Maheshwar Singh whose grandfather served under the maharaja and was gifted the castle for his service. Its a peace of living history with painted walls and large spaces. Its also next to one of the single most gorgeous havelis in all of Shekawati. And the home-cooked food was a delight (secret tomato dish!).

"Yet another great stay in an old fort"

10.0

This was my 3rd visit to Narayan Niwas Castle and it was as relaxing as my previous trips. I stayed in Heritage Suite no 1 - an amazing former reception room. Great authentic Rajasthani dinner. A few tips: I'd strongly recommend hiring a local guide and driver to get around the Shekhawati towns and village. It's very hard to do alone using public buses. You're unlikely to see more than 2 in a day by bus. Mr Singh can arrange for Rajesh to take you around. It's an old fort and not in tip-top shape, but that's part of the charm of the fort. It's clean and relaxing. Ask to be taken to the tower to see the view of the village. Delhi is now only 6 hours by bus from Jhunjhunu (30 mins from the fort by taxi). It's roughly the same as train from Churu.

Nothing to dislike.

"Night in museum!"

9.0

If you are looking for night in museum go there. This is real old fort. Don't expect comfortable hotel but unique room with antique bad with antique walls, doors, furniture etc etc. WOW! And diner! Diner there was sublime. Realy tasty Indian traditional food. Flavor other then everywhere.

Bathroom needs renovation.

"A typical old Shekhawati property to stay for one or two nights in a suite ."

10.0

First class old property in Mehansar . Don’t hesitate , do stay there in a small typical Shekhawati village . I’ll come back in one of their suite as soon as possible .
