Hotel Sunny Shiga

Its 50m to two diff ski lifts that bring u to two diff sides of the mountain. The convenience is amazing. The staff was friendly and helpful. Daily dinner was different. Its a buffet combined with a hot dish eg hotpot, and shabushabu and japanese style beef steak. It was so good to go ski n come back to onsen. Theres a hot water dispenser at every level which means warm water every night in the cold winter season.

We got the family room even though it was just two of us, so it was very roomy and very spacious and also en suite bathroom which we wanted. The deco is a bit old fashioned but very clean.

Extremely friendly staff that made us feel like family. The breakfasts & dinners felt home cooked and plentiful. The location is in prime location for the Central Valley skiing area of Shiga Kogen.

Staff so helpful and we never needed to ask, they were there in a blink!

Nothing disappointed us.

Just a few step to ski area, staffs are very helpful with smiling services. Ski gear and snowboard are able to hire at the hotel. Mini gift shop at the hotel also have noodles, ice cream and ski accessories for sale. Hot bath is available 24hr and baggage delivery service is available for sending and receiving as well. Meals are much better than I expected and my kids really enjoyed them. PS. Bus stops are also near by.

In the room pillows are hard and small also very dry it would be better if each room has humidifier and better pillows.

The location was great cross the road and you are at the ski lift. The hotel room we had was just enough for six people and foutons with a low table and TV. The view from the room was of the mountain was nice. We thought we would shower in the room but it turns out the Onsen was great and we all used that instead. The water temperature we felt was very hot so could not stay soaking more then a few minutes but the temperature changed everyday apparently based on the source water. We always went after dinner and it was mostly empty. There is ice water and hot water for drinking for free. We stayed three nights and the dinners were hotpot/steak/hotpot but the hotpot ingredients were different with fresh fish and meat and veg. Breakfasts were the same but still enjoyable, we did not mind, there was always egg, fish,sausage, rice and some breads with many drinks options . The view from the restaurant was great. The reception was very welcoming. You can buy cheaper lift ticket vouchers and rent skis at the hotel. The ski can be kept in a convenient room at the hotel. The parking was ample.

The hotel is quite dated but we'll kept. The reception (older woman and man who seemed like owners) didn't really know what was happening with the skiing, we were in early season Dec 16-19 and only two lifts were open but they told us everything was open (we were with Japanese people so not a language barrier). Beware the equipment is quite old. We rented boots, skis, poles and helmets. First day we were given old style ski boots without buckles like the ones for kids and it was the most uncomfortable skiing day, we had to ask to change them for the next day and it was so much better. Not sure how often the equipment gets washed but when returning you just put them back from where they picked it up from to give to us, so probably not washed often. The Onsen did not provide many amenities just hair dryers and the provided yukatas were nice and clean but no kid sizes.

Strategically located within just 50meters from chairlift and about 150meters from bus stop to the rest of the ski resorts. Right in the middle so, there's a good chance to even get a seat on the free bus. Staff are all very helpful and try their best to accommodate. Breakfast spread was good as was dinner which comes with a set main course and a small buffet spread. Facilities including the beds are a bit dated though very well maintained and everything is clean. Would recommend purely on location alone with the rest being bonus thrown in.

Lift is extremely slow but stairs are clean and walkable. Room did not have tea making facilities. Need to get it from central pantry. Ski rental though extremely cheap, had dated, not well maintained equipment.

酒店很近購雪票及滑雪登山電梯。整體來說酒店房間較大，休息地方，例如烘乾室，暫存行李室都比較大及方便，雖然只得一個浸浴池，水很熱，浸浴的人不算多，可以解除整天滑雪的疲勞。

今次滑咗5-6山頭，大概每個說道只有一個餐廳，選擇較少。酒店只有一個電梯，繁忙時間等候時間較長，有需要時要行樓梯。酒店滑雪用具比較舊，我們去咗隔離酒店租用雪具。
