Went on a family holiday to Moi Talpe and honestly, it was one of the best decisions we made. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel at home — super friendly and incredibly helpful, especially with the kids. That gave us the rare chance to actually relax and enjoy the stay. The layout of the property is ideal for families — the plunge pool, bean bags, and swings added a lovely charm, and the best part was that everything was within eyesight. We never had to worry about where the kids were. It felt really safe and well thought out. The beach is just out front. Depending on the season, the shoreline shifts, but a short walk took us to the stunning Talpe rock pools — nature’s own mini plunge pools. Sunsets there were something else. Food was a highlight — fresh, generous portions, and the kitchen team even went out of their way to accommodate a few dietary needs. The rooms were spacious, clean, and just what we needed after a day in the sun. It’s rare to find a place that balances comfort, style, and family-friendliness so well — and for the price, it truly exceeded our expectations. We’ll definitely be back! — A happy (and rested) dad

Perfect Family Getaway!” We stayed as a family of four with two kids, and my brother’s kids joined us too – they absolutely loved their time here! Unfortunately, we could only stay one night, but next time we visit Galle or Ahangama, we’ll definitely book for a longer stay. The value for money is fantastic, and the staff are incredibly supportive and welcoming. We were pleasantly surprised because we had seen a few negative reviews, but our experience was the complete opposite – even the linens were brand new and spotless! This place truly exceeded our expectations, and we can’t wait to come back again.

Staying at Moi Talpe was such a lovely surprise. It’s a former tsunami house that’s been beautifully redone the rooms feel fresh and comfortable, and the open-air restaurant and lounge space became our go-to hangout spots. We actually extended our stay because we couldn’t get enough of the skies here —every evening felt like a painting, and we didn’t want to miss a single one. The plunge pool, while small, was just right for our group, and it’s only for in-house guests so it felt private and peaceful. What really made the stay though was the team - Dinesha, Chamara (the chef!), and Suranga were so warm and welcoming. Nothing felt forced just genuinely kind people who took great care of us. We even saw turtles swimming in the sea a few evenings, and the Talpe rock pool beach is just a few steps away. The swings were a nice touch too we had a lot of fun there. Highly recommend this spot. We’re already planning to come back with friends and take over the whole villa next time.

The initial room we booked, the air con was not working. But the staff were incredibly helpful and offered us another room.

Rooms are comfortable but compact. Room facilities not as described on booking.com Had issues with air conditioning in our friends room, and overall felt the food was at best average for Sri Lanka and sadly the staff seemed de-motivated. We also had issues with drainage in our shower and our friends air conditioning wasn't working. Be aware that the hotel is on a busy main road which can be noisy. View of sea is fantastic.

The sea in front is very rocky and not safe for swimming but nothing the property can help with so no complaints really

Very lovely place to stay. Convenient location close to nearby popular beach towns. The highlight was definitely the swing out onto the sea.
