Senu Lagoon Villa

Senu Lagoon Villa is a new property overlooking the wildlife lagoon area in Tangalle. We stayed here last year, loved it and came back. It is a 5 minute walk to the beach and the chalets overlooking a pond and lagoon are spacious and well appointed with a large balcony (and balcony furniture). A comfy bed, efficient shower and air conditioning, great swimming pool and well landscaped garden area and most importantly friendly and helpful staff and owner Rochan. The breakfast is a standard western style breakfast freshly made. It’s a great quiet place for wildlife watching and relaxing. We saw peacocks, mongoose, monkeys and a jungle fowl and too many other birds to mention!

Nice accomodation with clean pool and friendly staff. They organized a safari for us and even took care of our laundry. You can walk to the beach and see turtles there.

Breakfast could be improved, it's a simple buffet and not much choice.

Lovely owner who was friendly and accommodating. We stayed in one of the villas overlooking the pond which was so peaceful, had a spacious private balcony and wonderful sounds of the frogs at night. I was unwell whilst we were staying here and it was the best place to be - the rooms were spotlessly clean (with no damp - which we found common elsewhere), the bed was very comfortable and the aircon was great. The pool was a nice addition too. Only 5 minutes walk to the beach (using the shortcut) and right near local restaurants. Would recommend staying here

The pool area is newly finished and great to relax at! The room was spacious and the wifi worked great. The breakfasts were nice and included!

The bathroom had someones soap still in the shower when I arrived, but besides that the room was big and clean!

I would have given a better rating if the staff had not been acting in bad faith. At the time of check-out, they tried to charge me additional fees that were not mentioned on Booking. Be careful with your bill! Additionally, the owner contacted me 6 hours after check-out via WhatsApp, accusing me of stealing a beach towel and trying to charge me for it! I had to report the issue to Booking.com. Finally, I forgot my fast charger for my electronic devices, and the owner did not contact me to inform me about it or offer any solutions. In summary, the hotel and the room are decent, but the staff and customer experience leave much to be desired. Pay close attention to your bill! To top it off, after returning from a dinner outing in the evening, I found myself locked out at 10 PM in front of the hotel gate, which they had closed. No procedure was mentioned, and I had to climb and jump over the gate to get back to my room.

Our stay at this accommodation was absolutely wonderful. The rooms were clean and spacious, with comfortable beds ensuring a great night's sleep. The property features a beautifully maintained garden and a large pool, perfect for relaxation. Breakfasts were delicious and diverse, with an option to enjoy dinner as well. The owner is genuinely caring, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. Additionally, the location offers great opportunities for excursions and trips, making it a perfect base for exploring the area. Highly recommended!

Price - Ratio , especially breakfast - just scrambled eggs and 8 Toasts + shake for two persons ( who is eating 8 Toasts) , no Coffee :/ -> would recommend to offer Fried or scrambled eggs / omlette + Some fruits - shake - coffee and fresh toasts - no big extra Costs

One of the best apartments of our trip in Sri Lanka. The room is really good near a lake with turtles and birds. The pool is really nice too. The breakfast was really good and abundant.

They are doing the restaurant now, so the entrance y a little bit anoying. You have to pass the construction site to reach the vila.

Very pretty hotel, nice swimming pool. Rooms are huge and clean. There is a shortcut to the beach 5 minutes walk. It was lowseason and they were working. In november they expect to be done and have a beautiful restaurant and more rooms as well. The staff was very kind and start late with working on the restaurant.
