Senu Lagoon Villa

The grounds are beautiful some areas still under construction. Staff are very accommodating and went out of their way to help us we requested a fridge and flat screen tv and they provided them. It poured with rain when we arrived and they met us with umbrellas.

Probably some hanging space and more power points.

New build property with lots of potential to be an amazing stay. Really nice pool and room with balcony overlooking the grassland/lagoon. Staff speak minimal english but tried his best to help us and was very accommodating. Kayaking available to do on lagoon which was fun but comes at extra cost.

Is still under construction at the front which we weren’t aware of so we’re surprised on arrival. Also needed to walk through the construction to get to room. Which also caused some plumbing issues during our stay. Had some unexpected extra charges.

We like it all and the property is finished already and brand new! Really good conditions- one of the best we met in Sri Lanca

We spent a month in Sri Lanka and this was one of our favourite places to stay in. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, there was a nice terrace overlooking a small lagoon and the swimming pool was a nice to have to be able to cool down at any time. The property is new so there was a nice modern feel to it, unlike many of the places we stayed in where everything was worn out, mouldy and old. It was a short walk to the beach and restaurants and in a quiet location at the same time. Good value for money in this price price class. Added bonus, there was a super cute dog to play with! ;)

The breakfast was average compared to other places we've stayed in. The canoes for going around the lagoon turned out to be quiet pricey, they were free to use in other locations so it was a bit of a surprise.

The place is relatively new and close to the beach (if You know the shortcut)

The staff present at the place barely speaks english. I would avoid drinking juices and water at breakfast as they have the same smell as water from the tap… if You are concerned about things like that. There is a dog at the property which is not a problem however would be good if the staff could clean after her. There are only 2 sun beds available at the pool area.

It was all clean and spacious with a nice pool and very kind staff! It looks really new.

The only thing I can imagine is that it’s a little dark road to get there as a lonely traveller. But you can take a tuk tuk as well of course.

Modern detached polished concrete chalets and large balcony overlooking a pond with fish and frogs and wild area with lots of wildlife. We saw mongoose, cranes, peacocks and many bird species. Surprisingly mosquitos were no more evident than elsewhere. Modern shower and new bed and furniture. We requested a fridge to supplement the kettle and Senu were happy to provide. The approach to the chalets is well landscaped and maintained with an excellent pool. The breakfast was fine for the price. Staff were great and were always asking how we were and if we needed anything. Excellent value for money and would highly recommend.

Nothing. There are clearly works to further improve the property but nothing that disrupted our stay.

The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The WiFi was brilliant meaning my husband could successfully conduct two job interviews! We loved the pool and the hot water in the room shower. The owners organised a lift to Ella for us, and the staff were very accommodating with our early check-in.

Let us first preface this by saying that the property is still under some construction so we completely understand that what we’re about to say will be resolved as construction is completed. The communal areas were limited so there wasn’t anywhere to relax by the pool or generally sit down and hang out. We were only there one night so it wasn’t a problem but for those staying longer, bear in mind. Once fully finished it will be an amazing space to stay in!
