Location ok fantastic

This property is well located- central to town with the beach out the front. Easy to walk to numerous great restaurants and cafes.

The care factor just wasn’t there with this property. The rooms are tired and not as clean as you would hope for the cost. Spiderwebs on artwork, discolored sheets and towels, rubbish under the beds. The family rooms are extremely small- so bear this in mind if you have kids. Whilst being on the beach, there is no view to speak of and the balcony is very tiny. Also, Wi-Fi rarely works in the room and the tv does not work at all. The staff, whilst friendly, seemed very jaded and disinterested; maybe due to end of season? Hopefully this hotel gets a revamp over the low season…..

Right on the beach with lovely shady areas. Friendly staff. Upgraded to a better room.

Location was right in Main Street and the beach, great memory foam neck pillows & comfy bed, air conditioning and super quiet ceiling fan

That the electrical plugs were British and the key was soldered onto the electrical key card so I couldn’t charge things or cool the room down unless you were inside so charging things was an issue. I booked this hotel to use the pool but it was murky and didn’t look clean but is right on the beach so just went in the ocean instead. Ants.

Location was amazing easy access to everything with a pool that is well thought of with the space they had, no problem with holding a room for a late check out.

If you are looking for a property with exceptional location, this is the place for you! - The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, if we ever needed assistance they were quick to help. - Location is perfect for what we were looking for, directly on the beach and the main road with restaurants/shops on the door step - Room was suitable and large. air-con and fridge working perfectly. - Pool was cleaned daily, leaves would fall into it throughout the day - but this was not dirty by any means. - Beach access was perfect, and they had allocated sunbeds/chairs available. - The beach had a bar for refreshments at very reasonable prices, we didn’t eat at the property but when passing through, the food looked lovely.

- Property description was misleading, it is advertised Wi-Fi available.. which it was, but only in the reception? No wifi in bedrooms or across the rest of the property. This is not explained in the description or when booking. - Pool towels are provided free of charge which is brilliant, however they have seen better days - stained and ripped - didn’t stop us from using them. - General cleanliness of the room was on the poor side, however we weren’t too bothered as the location meant we were out and about for the majority of our time in Arugam Bay. Despite all this, we would 100% return and recommend The Bay to others.

Definitely a younger traveller's destination Right on the beach. In the intense heat it's Nice to have the swimming pool to cool off in. The room was comfortable and bathroom was fine Staff member, Gerald, was very helpful when we needed assistance for good tea and adaptor plugs for our chargers. Shame that like in most places in Aragum Bay, a Sri-Lankan breakfast has to be especially ordered. Right on Main St so walking to bars, restaurants etc very convenient.

Very nice location and nice staff ! It’s right on the beach ! Very comfortable rooms with AC.

The pool wasn’t very clean and the bathroom neither. A lot of noise in the morning or evening you can hear a lot from the rooms.

Staff was excellent. Friendly and accomadating. Rooms were spacious and clean. Good food. Great location with a pool and direct access to the Indian ocean.

Just need better towels. But it was not a big issue.
