great location and handy to all around, the deck was a great place to sit and watch the sunrise and sunset.

have more than one power point in the room or supply a power board, the shower drain wasn't working in the room.

The location is fabulous, vibrant coastal town with great cafes, wine bars and restaurants. We had a rear room so views non existent, however we were 5 paces away and could sit on the hotels verandah and sip a beer or wine which was awesome. We saw 3 small orcas in bay which was incredible. The hotel is tired, up for sale and in need of some love and attention, but the price reflects that, rooms were clean, bed comfortable and views from verandah amazing. Small kitchenette with some basics down the hallway if you want to make a cuppa, sadly no fridge/ tea / coffee making facilities in room The wine and whiskey bar next door and cafe two door down were awesome

Bay view meant I had a balcony right outside my bedroom. Ok until folk were sitting out late chatting, about 3 ft from my head when I was trying to sleep! Bathroom was a bit basic too.

Facilities were adequate, and comfortable, which is all I would expect at the price. I'd much rather pay this price for this level of accommodation, than pay more for up-market. Also, as a single traveller, there are very few single rooms available in this area.

I liked that an old wooden building did not have squeaky floors. You must oil them regularly. I liked that the shower cubicle was a decent size. The mobile toilet seat is another matter and hard to remedy, but necessary.

When the hotel can afford it, quieter air con machinery, allowing window to be left open in summer.

I had booked 3 nights but they only had one night on their system when i arrived over new years . Managment was not helpful at all. Room was small and noisy. I would not recommend it at all

It was central to everything in Mangonui. Wasn't 5 star accomodation,but it fitted with what we needed very well ☺️

The fridge was very small,it had to cater for a few people so we ended up not being able to keep our food chilled,because it was overstocked with others food
