"Absolutely lovely experience."

10.0

Just amazing, we loved it so much. Bishnu and his family are so welcoming. Saoru’s cooking is beautiful, everything is cooked from scratch, and there is plenty of it. The lodges are basic and functional, providing a base for you to enjoy all that is on offer. Bishnu offers a wide range of Safari experiences, we recommend them all. We would go back in a heartbeat if we could!

"Charming, simple lodge with a wonderful energy."

10.0

Chital Lodge is simple yet utterly charming. I wasn’t sure whether to go for it as I had the budget to be a little more extravagant, but I’m so glad I did. The energy of the place is incredible credibly sweet and relaxed. I took the jungle keep your and full day safari which are well worth it. Everything is very well thought out and the cooking was amazing! Some of the best food of my entire trip.

"Great place to explore Royal Chitwan National Park"

9.0

Chital lodge is a very nice place, far away from the crowds. It is operated by Bishnu Bhusal who runs the place together with his lovely wife. Bishnu is also the guide who takes you in to the park by foot, jeep or by boat. He has lived here all his life and can tell you a lot about the animals and nature inside the park. Moreover the prices for safaris and excursions are quite cheap. If you want to have a real chance in meeting the true animals of Chitwan, my advice is to book Chital Lodge in Meghauli.

"Everything’s as expected and better."

10.0

Our stay was fantastic due to the lovely host family. Everything was clean and there was nothing missing at all to make us feel comfortable. We even were invited to the birthday party of his son and were fully included in the celebrities like we were no strangers but friends. The highlight was a 2D1N jungle walk led by the outstanding guide Bishnu. Chital Lodge is a hidden gem for those seeking simplicity and genuine connection with the environment.

There is definitely nothing to complain about.

"Best animal safari experience with very knowledgeable guide."

10.0

When you come to Chitwan, your main purpose is to see the animals. Bishnu is the best for this purpose you can find in the area. He has been in the jungle since his very early years, he knows Chitwan better than I know my neighborhood. Plus he is an excellent manager and tries to do everything for you way and beyond. The food his wife is cooking is the best we ate in Nepal, since it's true home cooking. They are all very attentive to your needs. And we fulfilled the purpose: all kinds of deers, monkeys, birds, crocodile and the close encounter with the rhino! What we also liked is the location. It's the other part of Chitwan, far from the crowds and touts. The facilities are very simple, but it's expected. You have very comfortable beds with mosquito nets and hot water.

Everything was expected.

"Superb"

9.0

Bishnu is an amazing Safari guide. Passionate, he knows how to share his knowledge and he is always very motivated to track any animal in Chitwan National parc, and above all, the tiger. The organization of the Safari were very good and very pleasant. Even if we couldn't meet the tiger, we've met rhinos very closely, several birds, deers and crocodiles, and with all the explanations from Bishnu it was very entertaining. The dishes for breakfast and dinner are traditional and really good.

Rooms are cold and you can hear the other guests so isolation is pretty bad. Probably during summer it's less important. Since you spend most of your time in the parc and that the price is low it's ok, but I would recommend to stay only for a couple of days max. We would also have appreciated more transparency about the Safari prices. We paid about 15 thousands rupees each for 1 day and half of Jeep + canoe + walking safari. I suppose it's a fair price but Bishnu started to talk about the price only after we arrived at the guest house.

"If you want a stay away from noise of tourist areas, & you want a great safari guide. Go to Chital."

10.0

The family are great, the peace and quiet at the lodge is excellent, the food was very good, and the safaris were amazing. If you are looking for the creature comforts of a resort or hotel then this is not the place for you. The rooms may be spartan but they were clean. This is the place to go if you want to be away from the crowded tourist district, and value some peace and quiet. You will have a large variety of birds around your room, and maybe the occasional jackal at night if you are lucky (don't worry about them, they are great to see and go in the other direction as fast as they can if they see you). The family who own the lodge are all lovely and welcoming, and they supply some great tasting food (the nearest shops are a 10-15 minute walk away. Bishnu from the family who runs the lodge is also the safari guide, and he is great He is a local who truly loves and cares for nature, and who is very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. I went out on my first jeep safari within a couple of hours of arriving and to be honest I was not expecting to see much. I would have been happy with a few birds and just seeing the park. What I saw far exceeded that. We spotted our first rhinoceros within a couple of minutes of entering the park and saw several more (up very close). There were dozens of spotted deer, hog deer, gharial crocodiles, mugger crocodiles, macaques, wild boar, and a huge variety of birds. I went on another jeep safari two days later and saw 9 different individual rhinoceros that day as well. Some of them were within n 5 metres of our jeep. On that second safari we also saw plenty more of the other animals I have mentioned, including a huge range of birds, including some migratory species which are rare to see in this part of the world. Unfortunately I decided not to do the canoe ride or the walking safari, but have since been in touch with other tourists I met there, who said that was also a wonderful experience. HIGHLY recommended.
