Chital lodge

When arriving we were greeted by a wonderful little dining house and general area. We were met with a delicious completely homemade meal, and the woman who cooked and served us the food was a great caretaker and a very caring person. The rooms are very basic, but you will rarely spend time there with all the activities you can book. We booked a jeep safari, boat safari and a walk safari(the best one of the three, though they were all amazing), all of them led and organised by Vishnu, the owner of the lodge. Vishnu is an incredible person, a naturalist and knows the park by heart, leading us on the walk and showing us all the animals and special places. Outside of the safaris, he is an excellent host and I couldn’t ask for better, being very flexible and welcoming. We had a bonfire and a well prepared meal in front of the fire.

The rooms could use a bit of an update but everything else was perfect!

We spent three nights at the Chital Lodge and we just loved it. When we arrived, we were very warmely welcomed by Bishnu. We got delicious lunch (we had all meals at the lodge breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything was delicious) and went on a Jeep safari right away. It was amazing, the nature, the animals the sunset, it was a beautiful afternoon. The next day we went on a boat safari and walked through the National Park for the rest of the day. Bishnu is very experienced and therefore we felt very save and we saw a lot of animals and birds. It was an amazing experience. The last day we strolled through the village and had another Jeep safari after lunch. Throughout these days we saw many rhinos and baby rhinos. We saw monkeys and beautiful birds, deers, crocodiles and even a wild boar. We were looking for an experience away of the big tourist lodges/safaris and found a jewel. The accommodation is very basic, but we spent most of the time on safari or in the dining area anyway, where everyone meets. Thank you Bishnu and your family for this unforgettable experience.

The family who runs the lodge is super friendly and cooks amazing dinner for you!! We booked a combination of jeep safari, walking and boat safari for 1,5 days which was an amazing and unique experience! The host also helped us with transport and to catch the right bus to get to Pokhara afterwards. In the evening we had a cozy campfire with the other people staying there which was amazing!

As the focus is on the safari experience, the lodges are really basic and not very nice and cozy from the inside. I think it would be great if they could get an update :) Nevertheless we had hot water and good wifi!

Bishnu was a great and warm host! We had a fun safari with jeep and by walking. We saw many Rhinos! The other guide Raj was also an amazing guide! There were great food options and Bishnu was very helpful. All in all an amazing stay, we would definitely recommend and would love to come again.

Bishnu (the owner) is absolutely wonderful!! His tours are fantastic!! The walking tour into the jungle is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever experienced! Also I did the Jeep safari with him and it was incredible! I saw at least 20 rhinos during me time there, wild bison, so many different types of deer and monkeys and so many other birds and things. He is so knowledgeable about the plants and the jungle and history of the area! We also talked about how healthy mud huts are. The lodge itself consists of these quant huts with lovely porches where you can read. Mosquito nets over the bed but there seemed to be less mosquitoes here than in Pokhara. I stayed here 4-5 days! It was wonderful!!

Amazing owners that go above and beyond to make your stay as fun and comfortable as possible. Great location in a beautiful remote village with such an awesome walking jungle safari.

The rooms are basic but functional. The food is delicious and prepared with fresh ingredients! Bishnu, the owner and guide for the tours is very experienced and does a wonderful job. We had the privilege of enjoying the majestic appearance of a beautiful tiger during our jungle walk safari, absolutely stunning! The Lodge and the tours it offers are 100% recommended!! We did the boat, jeep and walk safari :)

The rooms could use a little up grade :)

Exceptional ! Bishnu is an amazing host. He is so kind and generous. He made everything for us to be happy with our experience in Chitwan. He had been very flexible to meet our wishes. For my birthday he even offered me popcorn, such a nice attention. He helped us with everything we needed. Bishnu is very passionate about the jungle. He has such a beautiful soul. The lodge is very quiet and nice. It is a way more personal and authentic experience than staying in a luxury lodge with many tourists. It really feels like staying with a local family. The value for money is great. Foods are great and homemade. I would recommend thousand of times to stay there !
