The Barnstead Inn

We arrived on Friday for 5 nights. My 89 year old mother had an emergency and I told the owner we would need to leave early due to a family emergency. She said she would work with us. She charged us for the entire time. Emergencies happen but the owner had zero compassion and charged us anyway. The full amount. I wouldn't recommend the Barnstead unless one knows there's zero chance of an emergency happening to you. No credit was even offered.

We have stayed at the Barnstead Inn four times so far and each time was amazing! Each time has been in different rooms and ALL of them are so different but cozy! Our most recent stay (4 weeks ago) was in the Cabot Suite and let me tell you… it was next level stunning! The decor, shiplap walls, huge walk in shower with all of the high amenities, etc., just gorgeous! I never hung out at the bar area but it looks lovely and I plan on doing that the next time. The staff are all so welcoming and the two dogs (Lucky and King) are so cute and friendly, love them! The property there is so beautiful and we enjoy the outside fire pits! Honestly, it’s my favorite place to stay in Manchester, VT.

Stayed here with my girlfriend here for four days in the Winter room. So cozy and relaxing. Atmosphere is great. Upon check in, met with two dogs who were super friendly. Receptionist/bartender/cook checked us in and showed us around. Plenty of parking. Cute small town.

Our kids got this for us as a birthday present and it was fantastic. The grounds are beautiful. We enjoyed the gas fire pits and watching football. We had drinks at the Tavern and everyone me met friendly. The bed was comfortable and room decorated nicely. We enjoyed the breakfast and made friends with the dogs! Perfect location to town. Don’t miss the Northshire Bookstore. Easy drive to great hikes. Staff friendly and helpful- perfect weather- great weekend!

We have stayed here several times and it just gets better and better. The owners and their 2 dogs, can't seem to do enough to make your stay the best! The grounds and the rooms are spectacular and just spotless! Beds are comfortable and the Inn is located just a short walk into town! Can't wait to go back!

We had our September 2023 wedding at the Barnstead Inn. We rented out the Barnstead for the weekend, with a pizza welcome party Friday night and cocktail hour/tented reception/after party Saturday. We worked with Meg to plan the fairytale weekend. The attention to detail was top notch the entire time from apple cider donuts to Vermont cheddar mac and cheese to sweeping the dance floor to keeping my glass full with champagne. They treated all of our guests like family from helping my grandmother get around the property easily and ensuring our guests got around town safely. Would highly recommend this wedding venue. We just booked our stay for our first anniversary!

We stayed at the Barnstead Inn for three wonderful nights. The buildings are beautiful, and our room was just perfect. After taking a hike we went for a swim in the pool despite the cool weather and then had a warm bath in our room. This is our idea of a perfect vacation. Breakfast was tasty, and my gluten free needs were accommodated. Our new canine friends, Mr. King and Lucky, are very friendly. Also the human hosts are extremely kind and helpful - should you have any questions or concerns, they take care of them in the best possible way.

We stayed at the Barnstead Inn and loved everything about it. It has 3 separate buildings housing 23 rooms that are all different and beautiful: the Cow Barn, The Farmhouse, and the Carriage House! Staff is amazing at making everyone feel welcomed including the 2 very friendly dogs; Lucky and King! It is conveniently located , a short stroll from Manchester Village! The rooms are spotless and cozy with private baths, comfortable beds, nice linens, a/a, and a TV set to a changing scene with acoustical music. Breakfast is a real treat. Homemade full breakfast differing each morning. Coffee, water, and tea are available 24 hours a day. There is also a tavern and an outside eating area for small meals at night. The grounds are so peaceful and beautifully maintained with flowers and herbs and lots of seating areas and a heated salt water pool! A real treasure of an Inn!

This is a must stay place if you are anywhere near Manchester VT!! From the perfectly appointed rooms to the stunning property with its firepit, sauna and 2 dog hosts there is no finer lodging experience!! The innkeepers are warm and gracious, the staff friendly and attentive (Tracy makes a mean cocktail!!) and if you're lucky, staff member extraordinaire Pierce will make the best hard boiled egg you've ever had!! Wonderful food, unparalleled ambiance and great people. What else do you need? Thank you to all at Barnstead Inn who made our stay idyllic!!!
