Hotel Casa de Gandhi

We stayed at the Hotel Casa de Gandhi for 10 days while we took Spanish classes and enjoyed San Cristobal. In all of my travels I have never experienced the level of gracious and attentive hospitality that was offered by Don Mario and his family at the Casa Gandhi. It’s very special. We particularly enjoyed the morning digestif. The historic adobe casa is beautiful, immaculately cared for and perfectly located for enjoying the innumerable restaurants, shops, markets and cool night life of San Cristobal.

This hotel is truly an oasis in the middle of the city. It’s incredibly cozy and decorated with an authentic charm that gives it a unique character. Family-owned, you can feel the heart and soul put into every detail, and the hospitality is unmatched. The entire staff is exceptionally friendly and makes you feel right at home. By far, the best accommodation I experienced in Mexico. Highly recommended!

The property itself is gorgeous. The photos are great, but in person, it's really beautiful. It's very antique, rustic, and charming- like something you'd see in a storybook but with modern amenities. I was very pleased with the hot shower and heater in the room. The staff was so helpful with offering recommendations and helping me organize a shuttle at the end of my stay. They served me the best coffee and the most colorful fruit bowls in the mornings, which I enjoyed on the patio in the crisp mountain air. The location was perfect- I walked everywhere except when I went on tours outside of the city. Even then, the shuttles meet in central locations, so it was easy to walk there. I will definitely be back.

Very friendly hosts, they left some decorations in our room for our honeymoon. Breakfast was very good and we were happy to get to know some of the local breweries the family makes at the property. The room was super comfortable!

This place was wonderful in every way. As a family-run business, everyone has an interest in making the guests feel welcome and it showed. It was terrific. So much attention to detail that created such a wonderful atmosphere and very comfortable experience. Breakfast was excellent. No complaints whatsoever.
