It was a comfortable hotel in a cute and cosy town. The owner was very helpful and informed on restaurants and things to to in Cook City and neighboring towns.

I liked the wonderful welcome we received upon check in and your efforts to recover my grandson’s jacket from Miner’s bar. Thank you. Jeff - after dropping the kids in Cody I backpacked into Shoshone Lake 8S1 and caught two of the largest brown trout I’ve ever seen outside of a hatchery! WOW!

It's a lovely place in a very convenient and quiet location. The service was exceptional.

Price point was a little high, but to be expected in a small town so close to the Yellowstone NP border.

Very nice small business. Rooms were clean and well furnished. Staff was extremely helpful including recommendations for lunch next day in Red Lodge.

Minor thing, shower head was misty type so hard to wash thick hair but would not prevent us from staying there again.

Elk Horn Lodge is a small accommodation handily located 4 miles from the Northeast entrance to Yellowstone. We were not sure what to expect when we booked it. However, we were extremely impressed once we arrived. Jeff and his wife have owned this gem of a hideaway for over 15 years. As owners/operators they take great pride in their establishment. Our room was spotless and was fully lit, unlike the much more expensive room we booked the previous night in Yellowstone. You could actually read a book in the room unlike some of the very dim hotel rooms in which we had stayed on this trip. If you didn’t want to read, there was a DISH TV with more channels than we have at our home. The refrigerator had a freezer compartment unlike most of the rooms we had stayed in. In those places, I had to ask staff members to freeze my ice packs. I didn’t have to bother Jeff, who would have accommodated me, as his refrigerator had a freezer. Finally, Jeff knew about local driving, especially Montana’s famed Bear Tooth Highway. My choice for Cooke City.
