Villa Lu Amazon Ecolodge is situated on the edge of the Cerro Escalera Regional Conservation Area, just 5 minutes from the center of Tarapoto. The lodge features 13 rooms set amidst tropical gardens, a swimming pool overlooking the forest, a restaurant serving local cuisine, and a staff team rated 9.7 by our guests. The rooms do not have air conditioning; the cool climate of the high jungle and ceiling fans ensure a comfortable stay.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. Beautiful location - just a few minutes (5min in mototaxi, 20min walking) to town, though it is very much jungle. Great hosts and very good restaurant.

Loved the location, secluded but still close to the city center (10 min by car). Beautiful place, well distributed. Incredibly friendly staff. A1 service and care. Great food, breakfast, lunch and dinner The pets in property were lovely, All 3 dogs were fantastic, very friendly and playful, felt safe because they barked at strangers at night but would not bark or scare guests, which is impresive to see. Cats were friendly and not intrusive.

Perhaps the ventilation in the rooms. Although they had big windows with bug nets, no celing fans so it could get very hot at night being the amazon jungle. The staff did bring us a big fan to solve that issue but it would have been a plus if they had them already in the rooms.

Everybody was so nice. The place is amazing. Secluded but not too far away from the city. We’ll be back

Just to give a heads up, there’s no AC so if you’re not used to the heat, take precautions. They do have a fan and it worked fine for us.

We loved the staff above all else. They were so friendly, kind, attentive, and helpful! We will miss the team at Villa Lu! They helped us to organize tours and welcomed us like family. The room was spacious and we enjoyed the pool so much we didn’t want to leave the hotel. The food was excellent as well. Thank you!

The hotel was simply amazing! The staff made us feel like we were part of a big family. Our room was very comfortable, cozy, and clean. The food was also very good. It's a bit hidden, but that wasn't an issue at all because they help you get affordable transportation every time you need it. Overall, our stay was fantastic, and we will definitely stay at Villa Lu next time we visit Tarapoto 🌴❤️
