Quiri Hotel

The location was excellent, and the lake-view room had a large window overlooking the water.

I had some issues getting assistance from the hotel staff with arranging my trip to and from Cat Ba — their replies were very slow. The real disappointment, however, was the strong smell of mold as soon as we entered the room. We had carefully screened many hotels before choosing Quiri, specifically because we knew mold is a common issue in Cat Ba, and none of the reviews mentioned it here. The overall room condition and cleanliness of the bathroom left much to be desired. Unfortunately, we regretted our choice — this was by far the worst value for money we experienced in Vietnam trip.

Design of the room and downstairs areas, the hotel has a nice bar and breakfast was good. Staff very much willing to make you feel at home. Also arranged our day trips around the island - good communication

If anything, we’d have to say the room we had (top floor with brick wall) held a moist scent, perhaps due to lack of ventilation.

The service of the staff they went out of their way to help us with transport to and from the hotel. Even booked us an excellent boat cruise. Special thanks to Jake who organised all. Also to Cris thanks for your help. Food was also very good at restaurant.

Bar fridge was not working well in room but they do offer to keep your drink in their fridge downstairs which is very kind. Towels in bathroom needs attention

The bed and bedsheets in this hotel are OMG - after completing the loop, this was a true pleasure. Rooms are pretty quiet, but it wasn't that noisy as well. Great location - a few minutes walk from the center Great view. Actually now, the hotels around the lake are the only true 'sea view' because all the beach area is under construction

Morning- a cleaning lady bulges into the room, no knock, doesn't look if anyone is sleeping. She's talking on the phone, loudly... Great morning wake up. The hotel is ran by a young manager, that bothered to explained to us 20 times why this happened but no one bothered to just say - "we're sorry, this was not OK"

We loved the location of Quiri in the quieter part of town a short 10 minute walk away from the street markets and main strip of town. Linh and her family members all went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Chris gave us some great suggestions for a one day exploration of the island with the scooter we hired of them. The room upstairs mirrored the stylish design from downstairs. A little book library exchange gave it a homely feel and the complimentary coffee, wafers and ice tea packets. Our highlight were the pho cocktails and conversations at the bar after a busy day of exploring Cat Ba island and the eggs Benedict in the morning.

The staff were fantastic & went out of their way to help book trips, make recommendations and help in anyway, a real family run affair. Food was great and we loved the bar and restaurant.
