Mu Cang Homestay

Really charming and clean with scooter available for rent. The husband speaks great English which is rare in this town and it was a life saver because I forgot my camera in the bus and he managed to contact them then drove me to get it back.

The owners are both teachers on top of managing this homestay so they’re often busy and it’s hard to get recommendations which is a shame since the area isn’t as well documented as Sapa for instance.

Great and helpful host, nice view, comfortable room and bed.

Noise from the street, honking of buses and big cars arriving to the city in the morning

The place is easy to find and has easy (1km) access to the small town. We used it as a base for traveling into the hills. Breakfast simple but fine. The host / owners were very friendly and helpful and spoke English.

The road can be a bit noisy at times.

Nice basic bungalow with little balcony a bit up the hill. Friendly, hardworking and very helpful hosts! Greeted us after 3 am despite our bus being delayed almost 3h. They helped us with reaching our bus as the driver forgot us again.

Nothing bad for us, but it should be noted that in the bungalows you are close to nature - expect some ants, bugs etc. Mosquito nets for the bed seem to be provided, but are not necessary in November.

We had a lovely stay here! The owner helped us to arrange a bus from Sapa to the Homestay and back. Throughout our stay the owner was interested in our plans and wanted to help with guiding us to nice hikes in the region that could be done without a guide. We also rented a scooter from them for the day and had great breakfast (not included) prepared every morning. They have a lovely cat that always wants to cuddle and their daughter is always interested in learning some English with us. When we return to Mu Cang Chai we will definitely return here!

The bed was a bit hard, but that will be everywhere in the region.

I had a wonderful experience at this homestay! I arrived earlier than expected, but the host was incredibly accommodating and helped me with an early check-in without any hassle.

Very nice family bungalow close to the Mu Cang centre. Amazing hosts that really took care of us, helped us with the transfer back to Hanoi, let us choose a room and rented us another motorbike. Very cozy atmosphere of the whole place.

Everything was perfect. The bungalow is amazing, close to the nature. The food was delicious! The family is so nice and caring :)
