"Peaceful"

10.0

The area is very quiet compared to other parts of zanzibar, which was nice. The beach is practically empty most of the time, the view from the room was amazing. The staff were really helpful. David was extremely helpful in terms of activities, booking us cabs for our excursions and telling us about the area.

If you’re afraid of cats and dogs, the walk from the main gate to your room may be frightening.. also the animals are also in the main reception area. Otherwise all is good.

"Dramatic location"

8.0

Spectacular location, the beach is gorgeous and is very dramatic! You can swim in both high and low tide. Not many tourists around. The bungalow was spacious and not as rustic as other reviews led to believe. It had a wonderful terrace with lounge chairs (shame it was always in the shade, though!) No bugs came in, probably because it was too windy anyway! Breakfast is good, in front of the ocean and staff nice.

Lights in our room would not turn off properly, so we slept both nights with one or two lights partially on. The owner knew about the issue himself, tried to fix it but wasn’t possible .. but then I wonder, why would you let customers stay in a room where they struggle to sleep in?! Did not appreciate that. Also, food in the evening is too expensive for what you get. You should visit the nearby baobab resort where you get much more value for your money in a fancier place!

"Great place,"

10.0

Everything and everyone!!

The road leading to it was very bumpy. But worth it, as the secluded area of Eden Rock makes it very peaceful and tranquil.

"A must place to visit!"

10.0

A great place to stay. Brilliant location by Mtende beach. Can get busy in the day but lovely and quiet in the mornings and early evenings. If you see Jacob, on the gate, with his Maasai friends he’s a perfect tour guide too.

"Brilliant secluded spot"

7.0

Location is picturesque, great view and the beach is magnificent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good for lunch and open during the whole afternoon (really practical) relatively good prices. Communication with director David was brilliant, he was very present and helpful with an issue we had, also flexible with the excursion he organised for us, good tips and very kind.

Slight security problem as our door didn't lock initially. Was repaired by David so no problem personally, but keep your valuables on you at all times (they did mention this to us a few times). They offer some good excursions but some felt inappropriate... again this is very personal and could please other people. Having diner is complicated as lighting is quite poor, but they did provide portable lamps and there are good food options up the road (Baobab and Monkey Mountain). The spot is becoming very sought after and not so much a private feel. Many taxis arrive full of people throughout the day to visit the renowned beach, some walk to the back of the hotel to a ledge to get more of the view and can peak into your room. Again, we weren't so bothered (also it was high season) but keep this in mind. If you want real privacy, I would go for the single bungalow with no upstairs, we could hear the neighbours above quote alot...

"A true gem on Zanzibar!"

10.0

This place is absolutely one of the most beautiful places where we have ever been to. The location is stunning. The bungalows are all perfect with a view to the ocean. We stayed here with our three teenage kids who loved the place as well. You can walk on the beach at low tide and swim in the ocean at high tide. Definitely make a walk to the village and meet the super friendly locals. The food at Eden Rock is very good and tasty. Last but not least a big thank you to the Masaai staff and the girls of the restaurant. They are all so nice and friendly. It is really nice to talk to them! They make your stay unforgettable!

That we have to leave this little paradise!

"Very poor"

2.0

The view was absolutly wonderful and the cottage was nice.

There was no aircondition and we could't swisch off the light at night. The doors from the balkoni could't close. There was hardly any light in the bathroom the water was running out on the flour from the toilet. The starf didn't understand or speak english very well and there were no manager at the place. The food was disapointing and there were cats allover including on the tables. And I am allergic to cats We had booked for 7 nights and left after 1. We didn't get a refund, which was very dissapointing.
