Old National Hotel

All of the charms of a 100 yr old building, meticulously updated infrastructure, comfortable beds, elevator to upper floors. Charming host.

Unfortunately, COVID has created a employee shortage, so the restaurant wasn't open. But there were several cafes and restaurants within half a block distance.

The owner was very friendly, we had a nice talk over a beer

The hotel is extremely old, cranky stairs, broken chair in the room, no coffee option at the hotel

The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

The air conditioning did not work, the room had a terrible odor, the shower was too small, they did not provide shampoo, only hand soap. There was a water bottle cap under my bed covers. I guess I should have known by the price that I would not have been happy.

They don't use booking.com, wastes lots of time and asks to pay again at hotel, dirty, never go there

The location was excellent and the staff was outstanding. The meals in the hotel restaurant were excellent, the drinks in the hotel bar were a great value, and even the elevator was above average, bright and clean. We were in walking distance of at least three great restaurants and bars.

This is an older facility and has somewhat dated decor; if you're looking for the most modern facilities, you might want to look elsewhere, but if all you need is a place to sleep, eat, and drink, close to other destinations, this has all you need.

Price was right

No shampoo for the shower and one tissue in the box

The hotel is old and a bit outdated, but I expected that and enjoyed it for what it was. Staff was friendly and accommodating. This hotel could be so much more with a little TLC.

It was a little dated, and parking is tricky. The town is barely surviving yet there is metered parking throughout which is just plain silly.

Friendly, quiet, close to town, clean

Every aspect of this lodging place was terrible. I decided on this "hotel" since I thought it would be nice to not stay at a chain brand hotel....boy, was I wrong! When I walked in, I wasn't greeted, this old, frail woman was mopping the floors and asked me what I wanted. I said I was checking in and she was extremely rude and yelled at me when I told her I had paid for my stay online through booking.com and she made me pay again. I showed her my receipt from booking.com and even my credit card bill. Not only that, they have no computer or system to check reservations made. To add onto the terrible hospitality, we asked where we should park the car (online it says free parking) and she told us to park in the spot labeled "bank employees only". This was extremely worrisome as we had a rental car and it seemed wrong to do that and could end up having our car towed...all night I worried about our car being removed since there was no designated parking spot for the "hotel". We were also the only guests of the hotel and it was super creepy. It felt like we walked into a horror movie taking place in the 1970s. To add onto that, the sheets and blankets in the room had stains and the wifi didn't reach our room AND there was a weird damp smell! It felt really unsafe, we even put a chair against the door while we slept. In the morning, we talked to the new person at the "front desk" (it was the bar of their restaurant) and showed her how I had paid twice and asked if she can give me a refund and she also said no, that I shouldn't have paid online. After talking to booking.com, they refunded my online payment, but the "hotel" was super sketchy, don't book it! Seriously, beware!
