"Fraudulent!"

2.0

I booked a reservation for 2 adults and 2 children on Booking.com for the Old National Hotel. I arrived with the printout from Booking in hand. When I went to pay upon arrival, the attendant said the charge would actually be 18 dollars more. I declined to pay more than the total of my Booking reservation and agreed to talk to the owner in the morning. In the morning, I showed the owner my paperwork and again declined to pay the fees in excess of the amount on my reservation. After I left (two days after) the owner went ahead and charged the additional amount to my debit card. I left two messages and he declined to return my calls. I can't believe that he charged my card without my permission and that he wasn't professional enough to return my phone calls. Stay away! There's a Microtel in the same town with better accommodations and cheaper prices where we had stayed for years prior. We will be returning there.

"Quaint, cozy and comfy."

8.0

In the little town of Bath with restaurants just around the corner, this unique small hotel stands out as a landmark. Though old, the hotel was very clean and our room was spotless. Quiet with a very comfortable bed. Bathroom was somewhat updated. The only issue was no hot water for a time in the morning, though it did come back by the time we were about to leave. No complaints and would definitely stay there again.

"Satisfying old hotel, well maintained, restored"

8.0

We had stayed here several years ago and loved the atmosphere of a 1950s commerial hotel, with dark wood furniture, light-colored walls and antique lamps, which has been carefully preserved. It has changed only in minor ways and for the better since then, There is new lighting and extensive remodelling in the bthroom. Fire safety equipment is the latest design, installed recently. The wifi works well. There is a flat-screen tv with cable, and the price is very reasonable. The carpeting in halls and rooms is well-maintained, and the woodwork is polished to a bright shine. Hot and cold water are plentiful and the fixtures are in perfect order. The housekeeping is immaculate. The breakfast menu features large low-priced omelettes. The general menu is lacking in vegetarian-friendly items, and there are no good restaurants in the downtown Bath. There is a well-appointed formal dining area, roped off most weekdays but capable of serving a hundred or so. The bar appears well-stocked. The breakfast room is bright. The location is in an aging downtown, across from a picturesque town green with a gazebo. There aremultiple intriguing second-hand stores and several bars nearby, but many storefronts are empty. There is a functioning wekly newspaper office a block from the hotel. It feels much like taking a vacation in Superman's Metropolis after it has fallen on hard times. Lake Keuka is a few miles' drive away, and there are numerous farm stands open in October, which seems to be the end of the wine grape harvest.

"People, for the money you really can't go wrong here."

8.0

I booked this hotel because it was relatively close to an airshow in Geneseo. I called about 5 p.m. for a room that same night. After arriving about 11 p.m. I wondered if I had made a mistake. The Hotel loomed large and dark in the night. It is situated on a main St. through town. But there was no traffic Everything was eerily quite for a Fri. night. I went to check in with the bartender. Both the bar and dining room in the downstairs of the hotel were empty except for the bartender, She looked in the book and said, oh she gave your room away!" Long story short I paid another $10 for a double bed. I was beginning to think I was in the opening act of "The Twilight Zone and I would turn around and see Rod Serling sitting at the bar smoking a cigarette describing my trip. So key in hand I went upstairs not knowing what to expect. It is a "no frills" place, but I expected that. The room was clean and spacious. But far from luxurious but for the money you shouldn't expect it to be. No big stains or funny smells. I didn't hear a peep out of any other guests. No shower running, toilet flushing, nothing. About 9 a.m. I went downstairs to check out and met the owner. He was a well dressed distinguished older man. He offered me a breakfast but I just had coffee" which was very good" and left. Would I stay there again? In a minute! Low rent rooms are associated with a host of problems but you won't find any here. I just wish I had gotten up earlier to explore the town. Just beware I don't know what time the restaurant closes and I don't think there is really any other dining options in town at night. I had to go to my car and had croutons and water for diner!

"Great Location in Town"

8.0

Everything we needed including convenience. This historically charming hotel offered a comfortable night's sleep within the town business area. It has it's own restaurant. Our breakfast (Blueberry Pancakes) was exceptional at a very reasonable rate.

"Time Travelling"

6.0

Ok, so the building is old, but it is sturdy, just not changed for 30 years. Contrary to some reviews, John, the owner, is a venerable old gent, and was very helpful in making our rooms ready several hours early due to our odd arrival time. They do have WiFi, and a breakfast type of restaurant which was not McDonald's, more like true home cooking, at very reasonable prices. Beds were fine, rooms large, furnishings old but adequate. TV was not a flat screen but worked fine. Really, for the price, no complaints. Parking was easy, staff was pleasant. Loved that it was not a chain hotel, so it was an adventure. oh...and the keys to the rooms? They are real keys, the kind that fit into a lock! We (family) got a kick out of the place.

"Needs to be cleaned up and brightened u[p"

4.0

The room was clean but the capet had many stains and was rumpled and old. The bed cover was stained. Would be better off not even using it. Tried to open the window and it wouldn't stay up. Shower curtain was dirty on the bottom. Bed was comfortable. Furniture style was dated but in excellent shape. They need to brighten up the lobby and restaurant/bar. Very dark and drab. Nice location in the center of town across from a park where on Saturday morning they were having a farmer's market. Room was spacious.
