Ella Sunrise

Just perfect, breakfast, dinner, rooms, cleanless ... Thank you for your hospitality and your kindness !

We only stayed one night, but the location was stunning surrounded by the jungle and beautiful bird sound. It was also about 1 km out of Ella which suited us so much better as was more peaceful.

It was such a sweet family, and the lady makes a big and lovely breakfast. They are more than happy to help you if you need anything. The room was quiet and had a mosquito net, which was needed.

I was a bit far up in the hill, and the road was bumpy and dark so you couldn’t walk to the city by yourself, you needed to book a car or tuktuk. But it was alright.

Lovely home stay. We had delicious breakfast every day. Beds are very comfortable and with the fan you can stay cool enough at night. Location is great (to get in to town you can walk up the road then along the rail track as a shortcut- about 15 min walk) a bit further out of town but nice and quiet ! Definitely recommend Matey’s hut for food, and going to the Buddhist Monestary - both spectacular. Thank you for a wonderful stay🙌

Nice place, lady seemed nice until she charged us double

Owner charged double because number of guests was selected as 1 when booking was made for a double room but we were two, even though a double room is for 2 people regardless of a the number of people selected during booking. Beware

The room was nice with comfy bed and spacious bathroom. The breakfast was big and nice.

The room was really cold. I woke up several times during the night because of the cold.

We were in the family room. It was extremely quiet day and night. Room was very very clean and new. It has mosquito net, hot water, and a nice terrace where we had a full breakfast. The woman of the house is very nice and kind. Definitely a great place to stay in Ella.

Beautiful location - nice private balcony and spacious room. A lovely walk down to Ella town.

No hot water, also some communication problems with the host, but the beautiful location made up for it

I had a great stay thanks to the host who was really nice and thoughtful. The breakfast was big and very tasty - especially the pancakes. The room was nice and clean and the WiFi worked well which allowed me to work that didn't happen often in Sri Lanka! Ella is a town located in the mountains so I don't really understand people complaining about the location. For me it was great! Close to the waterfall trail and Ella Rock trail, quiet, with spectacular views on the way to or from the centre which btw took me 15-20 minutes on foot. If you go to Ella for hiking and wanna see a stunning sunset or sunrise - choose Ella Sunrise.
