A wonderful old gem with delightful staff.

The traditional architecture is nice and especially the upper apartments have a nice view.

The rooms were a bit basic with toilets only accessible through the balcony. When my friends wanted to shorten our stay, we asked reception and they confirmed that we can leave earlier and would get refunded. Then the owner afterwards refused but we relied on the information of the reception and already booked another place. Very frustrating and confusing why the management is so reluctant to solve the issue

I like the accommodation and hospitality of the staff Karisa, Caroline, Hawa and all the others. Great Breakfast comfortable stay. They have a swimming pool.

No hot showers.

Fantastic lush garden with lots of outdoor dining and bar space, super friendly staff.

The pool isn't very inviting, doesn't feel private, i felt a bit exposed and it could do with a few more plants to match the rest of the garden.

The pool is really nice as is the little garden that surrounds it. The bar is well stocked and a good price. The rooms are cute and the place in general is rather cute. You can pay the hotel using a credit card.

I wish the bed pillows were your kind of typical standard hotel pillows, big, fluffy, soft. The bathroom soaps are small bars of soap (and I'm not sure there was shampoo, but I might be misremembering), so perhaps bring some liquid or other soap. I don't think they have hot showers, which is understandable as it's 28c or more everyday. I don't remember there being a safe in the room, but the island strikes me as being very honest (go have a beer in the police canteen). There was a staff member who met us at the dock and helped us with our bags, but he has a side line as a tourist guide, and once we reached the hotel he sat us down and gave us a very hard sell on various activities he could offer. I, being British, am far too reserved to ask him to leave us alone, so he didn't take my polite hints we weren't interested in buying his tours. It was very awkward. Also he doesn't take card, so it's a cash only affair and all a bit odd, was very glad to not have seen him after checking in. Perhaps instead of the hard sell when guests are checking in, put together an activities book where guests can book activities via reception and with their card.

Jannat house is very very romantic! The house is built in typical Swahili style and it lies in the centre of Lamu. It is super cosy, beautiful, rustic with many beautiful plants around and an amazing small pool in the centre of the house, next to a bar. The highlight (besides romantic style of the house with many balconies and stairs) were the people working there! Caroline and the rest of the staff were amazing! super cool, helpful, constantly around making sure we have everything we need. They also prepare the freshest food and the breakfasts were great. Thank you so so much fot this beautiful experience! They are also well known in Lamu and well conected and can help you with tips on where to go and how to reach it. Great!! Thanks so much, I hope I see you guys soon!
