The Farmhouse

Zoe and team were lovely and tentative. Lovely cosy room.. heating was on on arrival so was nice and warm in the room. Quiet sourroundings and good facilities in the room. Breakfast was superb.

Could do with a tall lamp in imediate corner of room just to make it a little brighter in the evening without having to have the main light on.

The Sunday Roast pork dinner was dry and tasteless. It had obviously not been cooked on Sunday. The kitchen seems to be taking short cuts another reviewer mentioned his fish and chip were frozen, not fresh battered. The "triple cooked chunky chips" were not fresh cooked in th kitchen but came in frozen and thrown in th deep fryer. On another Sunday due to staff shortage in Kitchen the deputy manager would not accept a non booked solo diner even though the restaurant was empty, She said she had to "protect the staff", if the staff can not handle one unbooked customer when restaurant is empty has major problems or are running the hotel and not the young management.

The room was on the small side and with a bed that was not very comfortable. The bar and restaurant were pleasant and friendly. The food was nice and well presented.

The restaurant was very nice. Lovely breakfast and evening meal at very reasonable prices. Service was good especially as the restaurant was busy.

The room we had was not so good. Very small and not very clean, carpets needed hoovering and cobwebs on walls needed removing. Repair jobs needed on the room and bathroom needed a deepclean especially the walls in the shower which were dirty. Basically room and bathroom needed upgrade and modernising especially when charging over £100 a night.

Room, staff, locals, food....everything was spot on. I wasn't expecting it to be so amazing and I'd definitely stay here again if I'm in the area
