Ceiba lodge

Not much. We left after one night after booking for 5, and ended up paying for 2 even though very loud construction noise started at the facility at 6 am and continued nonstop. We needed a place to chill, not feeling well, and it was just the opposite. Really depressing.

It has no outdoor space at all to enjoy the beauty of the area. The room had a very small balcony with a couple of stools out back, but it looked out on some concrete remains of a torn down building, not anywhere you’d want to hang out, nor a comfortable way to do so. And the noise from the business next door was deafening. Maybe ok for young hostel goers sharing a room on the cheap, but really unpleasant for us.

Owner was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable.

The rooms were very clean and the location was within walking distance of food and adventures. The family and staff were very pleasant.

Mayela is super helpful and accommodating. When we first arrived from the boat they sent a car to get us. When we wanted to take the bus out she called the driver to pick us up. The balcony facing the jungle is very private. The included breakfast is good. The provided appliance for boiling water came in handy several times. Nowhere else we've stayed has supplied that.

It's a hike uphill from the beach.

What a lovely little spot. The family that runs this lodge is incredibly kind and hospitable. They get up early to make breakfast for their guests before the early boat departures and made us feel very welcome. They also have purified water available upstairs for guests. The AC in the room worked excellently and the bed was comfortable. It's incredibly hot here in January so AC was really valuable. Being able to look for birds and animals off the balcony was so fun -- we saw monkeys, a sloth, and several types of birds.

Our only complaint is that while the room is quite big there are almost no hooks or places to put belongings. Would be nice to have more hooks for drying clothes and a nightstand for each side of the bed.

The Ceiba Lodge family were so lovely and helpful, it was great getting to know them. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. We saw lots of animals out of the window and it was a short walk to the restaurants, supermarket and beach.

Not a negative about Ceiba Lodge - but it’s worth noting that most people go to Drake Bay only for a couple of days just to do the hikes or other activities. If you plan to stay longer, like we did, you might want to choose a hotel with somewhere to hang out when you’re not out and about.

The host is reaaaaly nice and welcoming! They helped me and my friends take the luggage to the lower level. Except that they knew we would drive to Drake Bay, they checked our safety on our way to the lodge. These warms make us all feel cared for as families. They can also help you book any trips and activities. Highly recommend booking through the host! They can offer a good price and perfect service!

This lodge is perfectly cost-effective! Nice location close to the beach and many good restaurants. The service is so nice and really clean. And also breakfast included. Will rebook again if I revisit here.

Great location for accessing the small town. Lovely to sit on the balcony and watch the wildlife in the garden (saw iguana, monkeys and loads of different birds including macaws and toucan)

Staff were helpful and friendly but didn’t seem to be around much to ask questions- was able to contact them via the booking app though.
