The Old Ferry Inn

Die Lage ist superschön, direkt am River Fowey und Fähranleger. Wir bekamen ein kostenloses Upgrade (Juniorsuite) mit direktem Blick auf den Fluss und Fowey. Das Frühstück ist super. Man kann jeden Morgen wählen, was man haben möchte. Zudem gibt es Joghurt, frische Früchte, Croissants. Außerdem gibt es die Möglichkeit, abends zu Essen. Das Essen ist auf jeden Fall gut. Auch vegetarische Gerichte. Das Personal ist ausgesprochen freundlich. Es gibt auch Plätze draußen. Man hat von drinnen und draußen beim Essen einen einzigartigen Ausblick. Was man unbedingt wissen muss, ist, dass dort ein sehr großer (lieber) Hund wohnt und überall herum läuft. Außerdem ist die Unterkunft hundefreundlich, was bedeutet, dass zeitweise sehr viele Hunde anwesend sind/können und das auch im Essensbereich.

Die Parksituation ist schon ziemlich schwierig. Die Unterkunft liegt an einem sehr steilen Abhang. Es gibt nicht genügend Parkplätze von der Unterkunft (die im übrigen auch nicht empfehlenswert sind).

Our stay at The Old Ferry Inn was very enjoyable. The staff were very welcoming and we loved meeting Archie the dog.

My partner is very tall and the room we stayed in had low ceilings, we were offered another room but the view over the water to Fowey was so delightful that we decided to cope with a bent back!

New accommodation above a very ancient old pub in a wonderful location looking across the river. The one way 6.20GBP ferry ride across the river was an added bonus as was the exceptional breakfast with fresh raspberries, blue berries and strawberries along with a full cooked English breakfast.

Two things standout, dog poop on the lounge deck and a very expensive starter in the otherwise well priced restaurant, 8GBP for 2 and a bit breaded calamari rings.

Breakfast set up has changed from 3 years ago to remove higher dining with better views. Equally, noisy room where could hear next doors conversation. We were on a lower down floor which was worse and I did not think good value for money. Annoying that the ferry was only running until 7.45pm too.

The owner and the lady who helped with breakfast were really friendly and helpful. I hadn't booked a vegan breakfast but they rustled one up and it was delicious. They were super tolerant of our crazy dogs. The location was great. We didn't want to be in Fowey or Looe as they're both pretty busy. The accommodation was very comfortable and quiet.
