The room was large and spacious and extremely comfortable with great views. The staff were very accommodating as we needed to pick up our room key a little earlier than the usual check in time as we had to get to a wedding. The breakfast the next morning was amazing!

The room was comfy. Breakfast was good we had a choice of several things. Our evening meal on Friday was good. Plenty of it. The view from our room was beautiful.

Our towels were like sandpaper not an ounce of softness in them. Horrible to use. We were both bitten by mosquitos terribly on the first night. All over. Far worse than our experiences abroad. Someone at breakfast told us they had been warned to close their windows. We did and it was so hot. I'm afraid it out is off big time.

Breakfast was plentiful and good quality with efficient service. The location was quiet. Bathroom was excellent with fairly new bathroom suite.

The property appeared to be run by a man and a lady with help from a girl at breakfast. Unfortunately the man is aging and appears to be getting confused. All were friendly. We ended up in a cheaper room than paid for (we paid for large twin bedded room and ended up with small double). It was only for one night and not a large price differential so we did not complain. We then later heard another couple arrive that appeared to have a wrong room - we suispect he got the two muddled up. Other disappointments were the degree of towel softness which was non existent, only two small pillows each and an average comfort bed in which Iould not have wanted a long stay.

The hospitality at the Old Red Lion is outstanding, as is the cleanliness of the rooms, but the hotel itself is very dated and basic and the price of £120 per night is pretty punchy. However, if you want clean, comfortable, a great view and a "brilliant breakfast" (according to my husband) then look no further.

Feels like the 1980's ...and could do with a tumble dryer as the towels are like sandpaper.

Very good room with a shower that worked properly unlike most hotels. Room had USB socket Excellent food at reasonable prices
