Taypark House

The staff were friendly and the breakfast was amazing.

Our room was very dirty. Also someone had 3 dogs next door which were howling all evening. Bed was 2 single beds pushed together. Rock solid. The walls were dirty in our room and there was also only luke warm water for a bath. Lights missing bulbs. Mould in shower. Sink hanging off wall.

We had a lovely nite at this beautiful old house. Excellent mushroom and truffle soup in the comfortable bar. Our room was very large with a nice view over the gardens. Very good breakfast next morning. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend Taypark House.

Really lovely property, lots of character.

Could have done with a really good clean…. Bedroom carpet needed a good clean/replacing Table in bedroom water damaged. Thick dust on dressing table Old reed diffuser empty and discolored. Sanitary product (not used) found under the bath Dirty glass in bathroom Mould in the corner of the bathroom ceiling. Dining room table cake crumbs from day before on the table Old food stains on the green fabric table runner Lots of dust and a hair on the bay window where we were sitting.

Staff were friendly, and went out of our way to make us comfortable.

Where to park wasn't entirely clear as there is a sign on the road near another cottage, but the sign to go down the hill to the main house said something about extra parking. Someone from the upper cottage came out and told us where to go, but I'm sure that is annoying for them.

The property is a beautiful old retirement home. The rooms are huge. Accommodation is very comfortable with an extra large comfortable bed. Dinner was great, breakfast ok. No airport noise as reviewed by others.

I note other reviews about the property being in need of renovation…while this is apparent in some areas it did not detract from our overall experience.

Excellent breakfasts.Good location with easy bus ride to Dundee attractions. Hotel had stunning period features and the staff were v attentive, informative and personable.

Room was not ready but we were dealt with sympathetically and offered complimentary drinks. The sink did not drain properly and the shower had a leak with black mould visible. One meal from 8 was v. poor in terms of taste, quantity and description. This was acknowledged by the chef. There was no in-room coffee maker as billed.

The location was good to walk into Dundee. Our room was very comfy with a huge bathroom. The included breakfast was very tasty and plentiful and typically Scottish. Staff were very friendly and we felt like we were staying in a castle. We would thoroughly recommend staying at Tay Park house and we would certainly stay again. It exceeded our expectations.
