Hotel Flatey

Friendly staff and relaxed

The location of the hotel is excellent, the environment is unique.

There was a great chef on site. The fish stew for lunch was great! The night dinner was exceptional. The walks around the island were great and we saw some fishermen preparing cod. The sunset was exceptional ! All the staff were very professional and helpful.

It was a pity the shower on our floor wasn't working but then the trip to the basement was easy and the area wasn't busy. The rooms slope so it was hard to move around the bed on one side without bumping your head.

Everything makes sense here. The island is absolutely beautiful and peaceful and so was the hotel. The staff is super kind and helpful and the food is really good. Favorite place after a long road trip accros Iceland. We would love to come back one day.

Amazing food. Quiet atmosphere. Family friendly. Fantastic, friendly, accommodating staff.

Recommend having a larger group common area. Have a selection of board games available (in the even of inclement weather). Have coffee and tea available throughout the day. Consider having outdoor equipment, such as paddle boards available for rent.
