Sunset House

Location was so close to the main strip and beach! The property itself was beautiful and so well kept. We LOVED the rooftop area especially!

Housekeeping only came once our whole stay, but it wasn't a big deal!

The bed sheets had small stains and holes. Towels were extensively stained. The bathroom smelled badly of stagnant water and mold. The wall-mounted shower head had poor flow due to limescale buildup. There was constant noise from an electricity generator (during the day and night) which was loud even through closed windows. Intermittent loud noise also from a water pump. Cutlery provided in the shared kitchen were rusty. The pool area was poorly maintained.

Sunset House was the PERFECT stay! We had 12 girls stay here for a Bachelorette trip and it could not have been better. It was super cute and we had majority of the rooms so it was like our own hotel :). They had 24 hour security and it was tucked away so we all felt very very safe! Someone was on call 24/7 so if we needed anything they were instantly on it! The AC wasn't working when we first got there and one of toilets had broken and Nico went in to fix it within 5 minutes. They also recommended a concierge, Faride, to reach out to help plan activities and transportation for our time there and it was a GAME CHANGER. I can confidently say our weekend would not have been as stress free and fun if it were not for her! She recommended things to do and took care of booking everything for us! Our weekend went so smoothly having shuttles already booked for everything we planned on doing so we didn't have to wait or find taxi's for large group. Faride was the best!!! It was the perfect mix of comfort and also authentic Tulum vibes! Best weekend ever :))

There truly is not much I could complain about so these are very small things lol. The AC wasn't on when we first got there so when we got there it was bit humid in the rooms but once we got it fixed our rooms were cool and comfortable. We could have used more towels in the rooms as well! Most girls didn't have housekeeping come but having them still bring towels would have been a nice touch!

The property is quaint, quiet, and private, yet close enough to area restaurants and hotels that it’s quite convenient.

I loved everything about the property.

Great location, near all the beach clubs. Room was lovely and clean, very comfortable. Staff were exceptionally friendly. Would definitely recommend.

The location is good and you are able to access the beach through a nearby hotel; the staff were very friendly; the room was clean and large.

The power cut out for a while one night and it is quite secluded so roaming didn't work either. So everything was pitch black and there was no way to contact anyone, which was a bit concerning when travelling alone.

Location is fantastic and the property manager is very helpful. We had access to a wonderful beach club and given the prices this end of the strip it’s great value for money. We also felt safe.

Not very clean, humid rooms.

A wonderful hotel! The restaurant nearby is nice, and it was quiet and beautifully surrounded by forest and trees and yet just a half block from the beach. This is a real gem and I hope to be back!

A little hard to get there by taxi because it’s through a slow beachfront drive along Tulum hotels, but it’s worth it when you get there to be out of the thick of it! Also, housekeeping didn’t replenish beach towels day 2 which was challenging for us because there isn’t a traditional reception area to handle things. Overall a great experience, we’d go again!
