Hotel Villa Maria

Everything! The stay was a 10/10 for us. The staff were always lovely and helpful, and we adored that the place is clearly family run. We felt like we had been welcomed into someone’s home. The food here was delicious and we would recommend to eat dinner here every night which we started doing halfway through our stay. We stayed in the annex which was a bit of a walk with luggage but this didn’t affect our overall stay at all. Overall it’s the best hotel stay I’ve had, maybe ever, and I’m hoping to be back!

This hotel is all about local authenticity. Everything from the service, cooking and beach bar is operated by members of the same family. Having tried a few restaurants around Sant Angelo believe me the food at the Villa Maria is the best. Fantastic choice and flavour. And the view from the terrace when you eat is to die for. Special praise to the waiting staff who were very friendly and remembered our individual preferences. We would highly recommend - a simple and charming hotel with great people, service, character and food. If ever we return to Ischia we would stay here.

It would have been nice to have some separation between our terrace and the room next door. Mattresses could have been softer. But these are minor niggles and did not stop us having a great experience.

What a magical hotel. Family owned and run, they take great care and passion for the experience of guests. We stayed 7 nights and genuinely cannot fault both the hotel and staff! Very attentive, genuine and always looking to help. Great spot, great location ( including views) and great food! We highly recommend dinning at the hotel in the evenings. They cook up exceptional food (with many ingredients from their garden). For the price point and quality/taste along with terrace views, it is hard to beat. Hotel is a brief 5/10minute walk from the main Sant'Angelo Sq up the hill which we loved. Their beach is a short walk and offers a great sun bathing location, very reasonable sun longer costs and exceptional beach bar food for lunch! We will be back for sure next year.

Hard to fault really which is an achievement !

I adored Villa Maria. The fact that it matched the photos on Booking.com was a nice surprise. Everything about Villa Maria exudes luxury from a bygone era. The beautiful gardens, the exquite tiling throughout, the terrace where you absorb the most breathtaking views, the food was plentiful and delicious, the gorgeous homely feel about it, the view from my own balcony to wake up to each morning and the friendliness of the staff. I could have happily stayed here longer to truly appreciate the beauty of this hotel.

Mosquitoes were a problem of a nighttime so there needs to be some form of screening to the balcony doors to enable fresh air to enter the room. There are no amenities like a small fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and no information in the room about meal times or how to contact the hotel reception. I was completely in the dark on the first day of my arrival.

Meals were amazing. Wide array of options for breakfast. Dinner (4 course) was of superb quality. Would definitely stay there again based on staff hospitality, food, location and facilities.

Beautiful views, nice restaurant, coffee and friendly staff. Close by natural thermal baths in another hotel, well worth it. Good beach nearby.

The climb up to the property but this is the case for most properties in the area.
