Hotel Mille Colonnes

We were extremely surprised to find that the hotel didn’t have a reception desk as soon as we walked in. Guests enter the hotel through the restaurant, and there’s no staff member to check you in. I think this creates a serious security risk. I was surprised when I first saw this. The hotel is very close to the train station and the city center, so its location isn’t an issue. The breakfast service was also quite extensive and delicious.

On the third day of our stay at the hotel, a terrible incident happened to me. The key card for my room had been given to someone else during check-in, and while I was in the room, a man suddenly walked in. In a state of shock, I kicked the man out of the room, but he kept insisting that the room belonged to him. I tried to find someone in charge at the hotel to explain what had happened, but I couldn’t find anyone. Check-in was handled by a machine. However, I still don’t understand how the key card for our occupied room ended up in such an accessible place. As a result, my hotel experience was filled with a sense of insecurity. That evening, I messaged the hotel manager about the situation because it was impossible to find anyone at the hotel. The hotel representative apologized. But the ordeal wasn’t over. The next morning at 6:00 AM, alarms suddenly started blaring throughout the hotel. We quickly evacuated the room and the hotel. Again, there was no one in authority. No one provided any explanation about what had happened. We couldn’t find out from anyone whether the hotel had been made safe again. And after all the negative experiences we’d had, we immediately left the hotel and moved to another one. By that time, all the guests had already packed their bags and left the hotel. I also reported this situation to the manager via message; he was very understanding and polite, and apologized. I requested a refund for our final night’s stay, and they agreed. I’m currently waiting for the refund to be processed. I wish I had experienced a safe hotel stay where staff were present and the front desk was operational. I don’t think I can recommend this hotel to anyone until these issues are resolved.

De locatie was fantastisch, de kamer helemaal prima. Heerlijk ontbijt! Zelfs verse fruitsalade en niet uit een emmer of blik. Lekkere broodjes, salades, verschillende soorten yoghurt en kwark het was echt super verzorgd. De eigenaar gaf nog de tip te parkeren bij de Indigo Diestsestraat met een tarief van €22,40 per etmaal.

Kregen te horen dat onze kamer nog een renovatie diende te ondergaan. De prijs kwaliteitverhouding vonden wij meer dan fantastisch dus wij hebben echt niets te klagen over dit hotel.

La posizione dell’hotel è perfetta, si trova davanti la stazione quindi è molto comoda. La stanza era spaziosa e luminosa. Il bagno molto pulito.

L’unico problema che ho avuto é stato relativo all’allarme antincendio che è scattato una mattina alle 6.20 per via della troppa pioggia. Purtroppo nessuno dello staff era presente per spegnerlo o rassicurare i vari ospiti.
