Distinction Mackenzie Country Hotel

Room was great , location good , and staff lovely. Meal at dinner was really very nice.

The breakfast room was packed and some food choices were unavailable due to large guest numbers and us arriving three quarters of an hour before last time. However chef did offer to cook us some eggs if we wanted so thumbs up to the chef .

Wir haben uns aufgrund der Lage für das Hotel entschieden. Das Hotel und die Zimmer sind sehr dunkel eingerichtet, jedoch insbesondere die Zimmer sehr hochwertig und bequem. Auch die Auswahl beim Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig

Wir hatten ein Zimmer zum Parkplatz, was aufgrund der hohen Auslastung mit Touristenbussen (die sehr lange die Motoren laufen lassen) und die Heerscharen von - sehr lauten - chinesischen Touristen sehr störend war. Während die Zimmer sehr gut waren, war die restliche Ausstattung des Hotels eher wenig ansprechend, wir empfanden die hohe Geräuschkulisse in allen Bereichen als sehr störend. Das Personal war wenig motitiviert, beim Frühstück wurde sehr schleppend nachgelegt. Insgesamt haben wir uns nicht wohlgefühlt und gemessen an anderen Unterkünften ist das Hotel viel zu teuer.

Terrible shower

Friendly and amazingly attentive staff. Comfy beds. warm. Lovely outlook and generally attractive exterior. Has everything you need including a bar, restaurant, lounge. Everything was clean as well as it could be for its age and so the staff are obviously making an effort with what there is there. Easy parking close to the rooms. Quiet area which made it very easy to relax. Grounds looked nice. Clean linen and towels very fresh. WiFi worked well.

Bathrooms are overdue a reno. The water pressure was a low and the plastic bath stained yellow. There was only one hook to hang up a towel after using for a twin room. If just the bathrooms were done the rooms would be lifted to a Distinction standard and great for another 10years. Put some big refillable glass bottles of soap, shampoo conditioner attached to the wall in the showers (instead of little plastic bottles that can be recyclable)… Add a usb/usb-c charger to the wall and a couple of other teas?
