The Residence by Atholl Arms

It should be precised that this is not a hotel, more of a higher end hostel or guest house. Maybe I did not see it but the venue is unattended. The breakfast for instance is just a kitchen with a few things for you to cook and make for yourself. As it defines itself as a luxury lodge, we found the breakfast and the kitchen very basic. To the exception of nice smoked local salmon, all the rest was coming from cheap supermarket. No fresh bread, no real butter etc. As much as it id not ruin the whole stay, it just felt a cheap way of doing things. if it is self serving breakfast, make it worth it or just don't make it at all. Also, with a full house, I cannot see how this small kitchen and dining area can house all guests...

Fabulous room overlooking the river, spacious and clean with ensuite shower room. Kitchen facilities with breakfast items provided and off street secure parking space were additional bonuses. Friendly welcome and helpful advice. Walkable to restaurants etc and nice walks along the Tay.

Lovely period features and beautiful styling. Relaxed easy come and easy go feel. Breakfast selection was excellent and rooms were very quiet. Request for celebratory champagne was seamlessly organised and setting was beautiful.
