Confort Arenal

We stayed for 3 nights at this place. The location is good, nice views on volcano, if clouds don't close it off. It is close to La Fortuna by car, also very close to the free hot springs. Nice grounds, the pool is well maintained ( but the water was too cold to our liking). The owners are trying their best but there are a few points to improve. It would be more convenient if rooms are equipped with a little fridge. The pillows were not comfortable ( hard and big), we were having a hard time to use them. The breakfast was really poor, and it does not look how it appears on the picture published by management on this website. It had a really small portion of egg omelette with a small sousage, a few pieces of fruits and a coffee, it was a very light breakfast. At the other two places we stayed in Costa Rica the breakfasts were much better and more filing. We left the hotel on our last night at ~5:30am so missed one breakfast totally. The breakfast is served at 7am-9am. The owner does not speak English at all, we tried to communicate via google translator which was not easy at times. We felt that this place is catered more towards locals and Spanish speaking people. And one last thing, sorry but the toilet paper needs to be upgraded, it is so thin that it makes it really hard to use it. We felt that the hotel is trying to save every penny on even small things. Next time we will stay somewhere else.
