THE SLOW vegan hotel

Great location right on the beach, falling asleep you can hear the waves. Room is nicely decorated but basic but we had the smallest room - suites looked bigger with balcony. Restaurant prices a little higher however worth it for the location, comfort and everything we had was lovely.

The bathroom in our room was a little small and overall this room was too small for a longer stay, however for the couple of nights we were there as part of a tour it was perfect as we spent most time outside anyway!

Ein kleines Paradies – absolut empfehlenswert! Schon bei unserer Ankunft fühlten wir uns bestens aufgehoben. Obwohl wir etwas früher als geplant angekommen sind, wurde sofort alles organisiert, damit wir direkt einchecken konnten – völlig unkompliziert und ohne lange Wartezeit. Entgegen mancher Bewertungen können wir nur Positives über das Personal sagen: Alle waren ausgesprochen freundlich, stets gut gelaunt und sehr bemüht, unseren Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten. Auch zum Thema Straßenhunde haben wir es anderes empfunden wie es in den Kommentaren steht. Das Frühstück wird à la carte angeboten, was wir als sehr angenehm empfanden. Man wählt in Ruhe aus und bekommt frisch zubereitete Speisen serviert. Am Strand wurde man stets bestens versorgt – Unterlagen und frische Handtücher wurden einem direkt gebracht. Am zweiten Tag hatten wir die Gelegenheit, den Hotelmanager persönlich kennenzulernen – auch er begegnete uns mit großer Herzlichkeit und Aufmerksamkeit. Ursprünglich hatten wir zwei Nächte gebucht, doch wir fühlten uns so wohl, dass wir spontan auf fünf Nächte verlängerten. Auch diese Änderung wurde umgehend und reibungslos umgesetzt. Als kleine Aufmerksamkeit erhielten wir sogar ein zweites Willkommensgetränk, was uns sehr gefreut hat – eine nette Geste, die zeigt, wie aufmerksam hier mit Gästen umgegangen wird. Insgesamt hatten wir eine wundervolle Zeit und würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Dieses Hotel ist wirklich ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen! Hervorheben möchte ich auch den Kellner, der uns jeden Morgen unser Frühstück gebracht hat. Leider habe ich seinen Namen nicht erfragt, aber er war stets überaus freundlich und hatte immer ein Lächeln auf den Lippen – das hat den Start in den Tag besonders angenehm gemacht. Bitte gebt diesen Dank unbedingt an ihn weiter!

Our favourite stay in Sri Lanka! The staff were lovely and very knowledgeable. This was the only hotel that provided information on local excursions and places to eat, which was very helpful. In a great location - you can walk to Coconut Tree Hill and Parrot Rock easily, whilst still being central to the town for restaurants. The room was well decorated, we loved the pink bathroom and the comfortable egg chair on the balcony. Delicious breakfast - you have to try the scrambled tofu! Don't let the "vegan" aspect put you off, yes the breakfast is vegan (and delicious) but also it is an amazing hotel in a great location.

Sam and his staff did an excellent and outstanding job to accommodate you as best as they can. The location is obviously outstanding and cannot be beaten. If you like vegan food, that’s the place to go.

The owner of this property is an absolute abomination. He was non responsive prior to planning to stay there and it appears that he couldn’t care less about customers. He never responded to any of my questions or messages, which I found very insidious and unprofessional !! Only after I couldn’t cancel the room anymore, he briefly responded in a very impolite and insulting way. For him it’s just a money printing location. If it was only about the owner and the way he treats you, I would not recommend this place at all !!

Wow! Ett extraordinärt hotell med en underbar vibe. Perfekt läge i Mirissa, stort och fint rum med havsutsikt och balkong, härliga solstolar, bra restaurang, vänlig personal och en ägare, Sam, som såg till att vi alltid hade det bra. Frukosten är helt underbart! Konceptet där man får välja vad och hur mycket man vill från a la carte-menyn när man vill på dagen var fantastiskt. Vi kan inte nog rekommendera detta hotell.

The restaurant should be have more food choices even if it Vegan style. It suits more couples than families and kids. The room is very basic should be improved like providing new blankets and bed sheets, billows as well
