Beautiful hotel, with relaxed atmosphere right at the beach !

From the moment we arrived at The Slow, we knew this place was special. The atmosphere is calm, stylish and welcoming without ever feeling pretentious. As a family travelling with children, we felt comfortable immediately. Our room was beautifully designed, clean and full of thoughtful details. Waking up to the ocean view and falling asleep to the sound of the waves was simply magical. What surprised us most was how perfectly balanced the experience was. We felt deeply relaxed the entire time – yet never bored. There was always something meaningful to do, whether it was spending time at the beach, enjoying the laid-back vibe of the hotel, or joining activities organised by the team. The staff are exceptional. Warm, professional and genuinely caring. Sam, the manager, truly made our stay unforgettable. He helped organise family surf lessons, turtle snorkeling, a turtle hatching visit and even arranged a fantastic driver for the remainder of our journey including our Udawalawe safari. Everything was seamless and handled with such ease. We are not vegans, yet the food at The Slow was outstanding – creative, fresh and some of the best we experienced in Sri Lanka. In fact, we loved it so much that we extended our stay by one extra night. We simply were not ready to leave. The Slow is not just a hotel – it is a feeling. And it will stay with us long after returning home

The staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and very dedicated!!! The outdoor area and beach access were very well maintained and nice, and we really enjoyed spending time there. The food was also delicious.

The rooms really need to be renovated. They smelled musty and felt worn out. The balcony couldn’t be used because of the countless mosquitoes. There were a lot of mosquitos in general (in the bathroom, on the stairway) due to high humidity. (The staff even offered us some mosquitoe repellent which was really kind, by the way.) All in all it was absolutely not worth the price!!

We loved our stay here, the beach set up is amazing with comfy sun beds. The manager was so helpful and all the staff were lovely. Our breakfast and dinners were great. It felt very relaxing to fall asleep to the sound of waves every night. Could have stayed longer!

Die Lage war ein Traum

Zimmer ohne Balkon

Unser Aufenthalt war rundum perfekt. Die Lage könnte nicht besser sein – direkt am Meer, mit einem kleinen privaten Strand direkt vor der Tür. Abends im Bett das Rauschen der Wellen zu hören, war einfach unbezahlbar. Die Zimmer sind wunderschön, sehr sauber und mit viel Liebe gestaltet. Am Strand gibt es ausreichend bequeme Sonnenliegen, sodass man jederzeit einen ruhigen Platz zum Entspannen findet. Cocktails und Frühstück waren ebenfalls richtig gut und haben den Aufenthalt noch schöner gemacht. Das gesamte Team war außergewöhnlich freundlich, aufmerksam und herzlich. Einen großen Dank auch den wirklich sehr bemühten und freundlichen Eigentümer. Er hat uns Ausflüge sowie unseren Transfer zum Flughafen organisiert – alles zu sehr fairen Preisen und absolut unkompliziert. Für uns war es ein echtes kleines Paradies und wir würden ohne zu zögern jederzeit wiederkommen.

Das Hotel hat eine wunderschöne Außenanlage. Es stehen sehr komfortable Liegen zur Verfügung und täglich frische Strandhandtücher. Das Frühstück hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Es gab keine festgelegte Uhrzeit, es konnte zu jeder Tageszeit (1x/Tag) gefrühstückt werden und dabei unbegrenzt von der Frühstückskarte bestellt werden. Das Team war freundlich und wir haben uns wohl gefühlt.

Das Zimmer war recht einfach gestaltet, nicht weiter schlimm aber deutlich im Kontrast zu der tollen Außenanlage und zum Preis des Hotels. Das Badezimmer war sehr klein, für den Blick in den Spiegel mussten wir uns bücken (ich bin 1,65m groß). Die Armaturen erschienen in die Jahre gekommen und teilweise locker, die Temperatur der Dusche lies sich nur schwer regulieren und schwankte ohne eigenen Einfluss zwischen kalt und nahezu kochend heiß. Das Zimmer war leider nicht sehr sauber.
