The Elephant & Castle Hotel

The breakfast was fine.

The temperature of the room, which was cold. We also had to climb a steep staircase.

Clean & plenty of parking space.Rooms spacious with tea & coffee facilities with a bath & overshower.

Unfortunately not serving food at the evening was a disappointment.

Location by the river, hotel was potential to be really good.

Breakfast does not start until 8:30 which is an hour too late for a hotel. We were offered a breakfast tray in the room, but this never materialised which was disappointing. No one is ever at reception and check in or check out - always a wait - why not have a bell or call button!

Great location for a stop over in Newtown. There is private parking around the back of the property and the location is right at the top of the highstreet and only a few minutes walk to everything that you need in the town. Room was clean and quiet. Good explanation on check in and a really good Welsh breakfast in the morning. I have to say that the people of Newtown are lovely and welcoming.

Everything was clearly explained. I appreciated a member of staff walking me to the room and showing me where everything was. The room was spacious and spotless. The breakfast was great. The view to the river topped it off.
