Hotel Malhotra inn 50 Meter from Golden Temple

Nice hotel . Room was neat and clean.Near by golden temple nd jallianwala bagh.staff was very helpful.value of money.Fully satisfy . Definitely recommended

We did not like it. Please read the detailed review below.

First of all, the area is very shady and not safe at all. The name of the hotel is Malhotra guest house. On the booking.com, it is listed as Malhotra inn. Then, the rooms were not clean, furniture was old and dusty, bedding smelled, there was an unwashed spot on the duvet. I kept the pillow away for the whole night because it was smelling really bad. They did not provide us bathing towels in the beginning. Our room key was in some other room when we checked in. We never got our free breakfast. The bathroom was the worst. It was not clean. The plumbing is rusty. No ventilation. They switch on the geyser only in the morning, so no 24 hours hot water. The water coming out of the geyser is only lukewarm. When we informed reception, they said it is that way. They switch off the all the air conditioning systems in winter. The window opens on a narrow street with pollution. There is no real ventilation. The room was smelling weird throughout the night. I felt suffocated. While sleeping, I could feel the spring of the mattress all the time. In the morning, there was cigarette smell coming from the bathroom window. I booked this hotel based on the reviews. This is the only hotel near the golden temple with the highest rating. There are so many people who have given 10 stars. Based on my experience, it is not possible. I speculate all these reviews are fake. I am attaching photos of the room.

The location is very central.

The window doesn’t give on anything and there is zero natural light, which gives the room a feeling of darkness / stuffiness. The staff woke us up in the morning for breakfast twice, no idea why… also a bit hard to communicate with them.

The staff was nice.

-there is no real window in the room, the ac did not really function and the fan in the bathroom was doing a poor job so it was taking ages for the shower to dry after using it, also the towels stayed dumped and never really dry out -you could smell mobile from the bedsheets
