The Royal Hotel Cromarty

Great location with a wonderful view out over the sea. Plenty of parking and easy to find. The pub was warm and friendly. We ate there that evening and the food was fantastic - tasty, plentiful and reasonably priced A+ The room was clean, light and comfortable. Staff attentive and friendly would definitely recommend and go back again

Location is fantastic. The room had a view over the Cromarty and the weather was good. The one bright note was the young woman who served us breakfast who was friendly and helpful.

The week before I asked for a ground floor room, or easily accessible room for my wife. We were given a room on the first floor (OK) but it had a roll top bath and no shower - we couldn't use it. Breakfast (my mistake) was extra at £16 each. This was OK but we should have been told (are you aware ..... etc.). My wife had cereal tea and a croissant. No option for continental breakfast. We made a comment to Jenny (reception) who was out main contact beforehand, when we were checking out, that if we had been able to use the bath or if there was a shower, there is no rubber anti-slip mat. She commented that this wasn't provided because if it was then the hotel would be held liable if we slipped - I'm not a legal expert but I believe quite the opposite to be true, that this would be seen as attempting to mitigate the danger. My sister has lived near Cromarty for many years and this is a fantastic location and should be a superb hotel, unfortunately it feels sorry and tired. Some day it will be acquired by a company that will invest money to make it a superb hotel in its location. We will never return as it stands. A coat of paint on the outside doesn't do the job

Love this sleepy beautiful little town. The staff were lovely, the room was spacious and comfortable. Lots of stairs, but very worth the climb for the view!!

I feel like I could give this property 10/10 across the board if the floors had been cleaner. The carpet was pretty stained and worn, and needed a good vacuum. Otherwise the suite was clean and comfortable!
