The Royal Hotel Cromarty

This is a beautiful traditional hotel with all of its original charm in tact! Staying by the seaside at this classic spot felt like a real treat from a bygone era. The lounge and bar areas are beautiful, with plush furnishings and excellent details. We booked two rooms and both were spacious and extremely comfortable, recently renovated but with all of their classical features maintained. The food at the restaurant was pricey but extremely tasty - all fresh and delicious and flavourful. We ate in the front porch and enjoyed views out over the firth as we ate. The staff were so helpful and friendly; all informative and good chat.

Great sea front location in Cromarty. Dog friendly hotel. Within walking of all Cromarty has to offer.

The apartment in the hotel is very spacious, but needs a refurb. Windows wouldn't open, some so old and sealed shut, with secondary glazing in front. The bathroom, with shower over bathtub is a little unsafe, and not fit for anyone over 5ft. The ceiling is too low for an over-bath shower, so makes it very, very difficult to use. Beds and bed frames could do with being replaced.

Great location, authentic offer - lovely building, very friendly helpful staff. Amazing views, if unexpected. Food well cooked and very tasty

Very poor lighting in the bathroom, bedroom decoration a bit tired. Breakfast was adequate but expensive for what it was.

Excellent place to stay. So quiet and peaceful. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. Food excellent
