I have never had such rude and unaccommodating customer service. Be absolutely sure that you read every word of fine print and that you have every detail of your trip set in stone, because these people will pull the rug out from under your feet at any opportunity to try and milk an extra dollar. It should be illegal what they do...

Arriving at Hotel Hacienda Guachipelin we felt as though we had been transported to a ’Secret Garden’ in the jungle. A true oasis was in store for us: charming casitas nestled in lush tropical gardens, clouds of exotic birds, an engaging & professional staff who warmly welcomed us. We were shown to our invitingly cool & luxurious contemporary rooms one of which was a magical glamping tent away from the main hotel. What a treat to wake up to the sounds of monkeys in the giant Guanacaste trees & a chorus of birdsong. Our days were filled with incredible adventures (some quite challenging) the hotel had to offer along with hikes to waterfalls and an afternoon at the mud bath and hot springs. There was something for everyone. Tomas our gracious host along with his engaging staff delivered daily imaginative escapades. Don’t forget, if birding is your thing an outing with Johnny the knowledgeable bird guide is available in the early cool mornings. A real treat. Oh, and yes, did I mention the delicious meals in 4 different restaurant venues with locally sourced foods, each a feast, an intriguing blend of Costa Rican/Central American cultures all served al fresco under the jungle canopy. This was Paradise with a kick. A perfect family getaway. We can’t wait to come back to continue the adventure.
