Hacienda Guachipelin Volcano Ranch Hotel & Hot Springs

Beautiful hotel with great food, fun activities, clean and spacious rooms, and excellent hospitality. Really enjoyed the buffet breakfasts and dinners. The bar in the back by the pool was fun, with excellent desserts! Hiking, waterfalls, and zip lining were amazing. Rooms were large with big, clean beds and a spacious bathroom. Very clean with plenty of filtered water. No complaints!

Beautiful spot with great food and staff! We recently visited for a family vacation and had a great time! The rooms are very spacious and clean and the pool area is lovely! Edwin at the pool bar was so nice and made the best drinks and smoothies. The food at the restaurant was all gluten free and tasted so delicious and our server Josua really went above and beyond each meal. As for the activities, we did the hot springs and Oropendula waterfall and both were very beautiful and memorable. The only minor issue is that the hotel shuttle to these spots takes a very long time because you have to drive to each attraction on a loop. Overall I would definitely recommend.

Great day tour to Oropendola, Rio Negro and tasty Tico lunch. One of the highlights of our trip. If you can, do this on your own, self guided. No need for a tour guided trip unless you don’t have a vehicle or don’t like driving on CR’s incredibly bumpy pot holed roads.Even if the latter you still have to embrace the bumper car feel to get anywhere good in the country. 😀 Have fun , drive slow and Pura Vida!🇨🇷

L hotel est bien place pour visiter la reserve Rincon de la Vieja et dispose d une situation privilegie pour les souces chaudes et cascades. Belle piscine

Les chambres sont belles mais mal insonorisees. On est reveille par le passage et voix des gens sous nos fenetres. Les hamacs disposes sur l exterieurs devant chacun des logements j ai pas trouve ca pratique et peu paisible. Prix resto sur place tres denocte des tarifs au CR et une fois sur site l hotel est eloigne des commodites pour entrevoir de dejeuner a l exterieur...

What a beautiful resort in an amazing location with so much to do!!! We went on a horseback riding tour to Las Correras and Victoria waterfalls... what an amazing experience!!! Norman was the perfect Guide 👍 🥰 so kind, fun, encouraging, knowledgeable and professional!!!! We loved our room, the pool, the traditional restaurant and the Staff (Thank you, Fabian at the front desk!!!). We only wish we could have stayed longer ❤️ Pura vida+asta luego, Hacienda Guachipelin 😘

Super Lage Nähe Nationalpark

We had a wonderful (but short) stay at Gauchipelin. We're a family of 4 with a 7 and 9 year old and stayed only 1 night. The rooms are clean and worked fine for us. The property grounds are amazing. BRING BUG SPRAY!!!! Food and Beverage: There are 2 main restaurants. One has a la carte and buffet and the other is more fine dining. Fine dining did not have a kids menu so we did a la carte and buffet. We like everything. Our favorite dish was the corn soup. There is also a bar that does happy hour. We grabbed a couple beverages before dinner which was also very good. Breakfast is free is great! There are so many different things to see and be a part of at the hotel is was hard to pin down what to do. Day 1: The first day we arrived from airport around 2pm. We checked in and walked to the Red Pond which was ok. Nothing too major but a nice little trek and jumped in the river. Next we relaxed by the pool which was a nice to have to cool off and relax. Day 2: Our kids were a little young to experience the tubing so we did mostly "self guided" experiences. We drove to Oropendola waterfall first. It opens at 8am and there is a parking lot. A short hike and you come upon an amazing rope bridge to get into the waterfall. It was awesome. This waterfall experience is about an hour start to finish. Once we finished there we drove over to the hot springs and mud baths that open at 9am. This was another amazing experience. They provide towels and someone is there to help show you how to apply the mud. We spent about 2 hours in the hot springs and dipping into the river to cool off. There are changing stalls and bathrooms as well. *If our kids were older and we had a longer stay planned in CR we would have probably preferred 2 nights but you can see a lot in a day. We did some hiking before breakfast and they have horseback tours, tubing, ziplining that all looked great. We went straight from the airport (LIR) to the hotel and would recommend this approach if you are staying in multiple locations when visiting Costa Rica. You can get your adventures all while staying at the hotel. The hotel is about 45 minutes from the airport and you can stop at Walmart on way to pick up sunblock, bug spay, and snacks/beverages. Bring Bug Spray!
