Location is stunning. Breakfast very good. Staff very pleasant.

Major problem related to very confusing heating system, with single analogue thermostat by front door, plus three further digital controls for different areas. We asked how the system worked and how to set it, but member of staff was not able to explain. We asked for heating to be turned down, so someone came to our room and turned down the general thermostat. However, this did not help us to understand the zoned digital controls. It was far too hot in the bedroom and we were unable to leave the window open at night due to the second issue below. Second issue: noisy extractor fan or similar operating 24 hours a day outside no. 8 and very audible, especially at night. Thirdly, there was no hand soap provided in the bathroom. I had brought soap, so this wasn't a problem. When I raised the issue on checking out, the receptionist told me that someone else had raise the same issue the previous day. However, no one had done anything about it. Fourth: we could not see any USB points in our room. We asked at reception and a lady told me we should have brought an adapter plug and that she had none available. Not very helpful. On clearing the room we discovered there were USB points in sockets hidden behind the bedside tables. However, on inserting the charger lead, these did not appear to be working! Lastly, the hotel operates a policy of background music throughout the public areas all day. This is very irritating, especially as the playlists chosen are generally vocal tracks, rather than instrumental, which would be more bearable. There is no way of escaping the music and no quiet area to sit and relax. This, out of all the issues raised, would ensure that I do not visit this hotel again. Overall impression was that while the staff are pleasant, they do not take ownership and deal with problems when presented to them.

Beautiful location. Stunning views. I liked the decor throughout the hotel. Handy to have a fridge in the bedroom.

Bedroom didn’t have windows, just double doors out to a small balcony. It was very hot in the night and I had to open the doors, I would have preferred to open a window.

Cliff top location. Good size room. Sea view. Private cinema show. Good Spa with pool, sauna and Turkish Bath. Nice walk down to Salcombe via boat transfer (2mims).

Apart from the very happy chappy who checked us in I thought the staff were a little jaded after a long season. The food was good but the wait was long. Screaming children!

Stunning location with amazing facilities. Incredible comfortable and spacious. Loved the decor. Very welcoming
